Civil War: 1862

I've played two scenarios so far and I have to say i'm impressed ! The graphics are not stunning but still are clear and presented in a way that allows you to get the feel of battle. You can concentrate on actual strategy without having to try and figure out what you are moving to or looking at. So I'm actually pleased with the graphics. Now for the game play, it's actually pretty straight forward and not in-depth, so if you are looking for lots of variables to combat then you need to buy a slitherine game. Otherwise if you like turn based table top combat fun like "Battle Cry" then you will certainly enjoy this game. It's worth the investment because it has the re-playability that will give you a pleasent Civil War Strategy feel, this will stay installed on my steam library for sure.

I'm not sure why, but this game doesn't play any sound effects. I have the music, but nothing related to buttons or troop actions. Game is still interesting, but it really detracts away from the play. I've tried restarting the game but with no luck.

I have the same problem has other people do with the sound effects not working in this game. I just bought this game because I already own Civil War 1863 by the same game developer and that game's sound effects and the music plays great. I love these kind of games. I don't understand why the sound effects in this game don't work because both games are from the same game developer. I'm sure a patch will have to come out to address the issue. The music plays great in this game but not the sound effects. I say to wait a few days until the game developer addresses the sound effects issue. I'm sure they're are already aware of the problem with the sound effects in the game and are already making a patch.

the game is constantly crashing dear developers please fix it

i liked the first installment 1861 very well and was looking forward to playing this one. However upon starting the Confederate Campaign i noticed an issue. Fort Donelson; even on the easy mode my units are getting killed behind the defenses, the yankee troops never recieve a miss counter and my troops get hits once every three tries. i cannot beat the level and therefore cannot progress any further into the campaign which is disappointing.

Dead set no differences from 1861.

Once again, like this game series twin brother "tank battles: insert title here" all these "civil war: insert title here" games are all the same, right down to the tutorial. There is very very little differences in these games as far as the look, sound, and play. The only differences is the setting/theme based on the subtitle. All of these civil war and tank battles could of been packed into one game especially since each game is only 100 to 400 mb big and all play the same. But no, greed is the only explanation for releasing this game as 10 different titles. Come on. All that being said it is a fun game to play but each civil war game and tank battle game are all the same game, literally. Just pick one and there you go. So again, like my tank battle reviews, im just going to do what the game developers did and copy and paste my review for each game.

Very mediocre wargame. Don't bother.

This game is good. Basic. Longer than Civil War: 1861. If you like civil wars, then you have to play with this. I think the price is expensive, but you can get all Civil War games in a bundle. You can complete it very easy, and you can get all achievements.
