The game was developed by Space Monkey International and published by 1C Company. Since this is a premium edition, it comes with extra features that are not available in its' counterpart; the standard edition. [b][u]The Game Review[/u][/b] Game Visuals I want to mention that the visuals in the game are nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay There are three different difficulty game modes to choose from: Casual, Adventure and Hard. There is a diary notebook that keeps track of progression in the game. Such as story events and clues. Extra features are added: Achievements and Game's Strategy guide. But these extra features are only available in the premium edition only. The diary notebook is not automatically given at the start of the game. There is no interactive map in the game. The player has to remember where to go within the game. Plus, what various tasks that are needed to complete at certain locations. There is no padlock feature that is available to lock the inventory panel in place to make it stationary. The inventory panel does slide upwards as it is being moused over. The hidden object scenes consist of the following: Traditional word list. Some of these hidden object scenes may require little or no interactions. Most of the hidden object scenes can be replayed in the game's extra feature section. There is an optional mini game: Match 3. It is only available during hidden object scenes. The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them. Most of the puzzles can be replayed in the game's extra feature section. There is a collectible in the game: Flowers. They are scattered throughout the game for the player to find. The gold coins are earned from collecting flowers and playing either hidden object scenes or match 3 mini games. These gold coins are used to unlock extra features. Such as Concept Arts and Soundtracks. Since this is a premium edition, there is a bonus chapter, but it can be accessed only after the main story is completed. Miscellaneous There are extra features in the game: Bonus Chapter; Bonus Hidden Objects; Bonus Puzzles; Soundtracks; Screensavers; Concept Art and Game's Strategy Guide. Most of these extra features can be accessed only after the entire game is completed. Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.

I'm playing HOG since a while and for once I disagree with the "mostly negative" reviews and will give it a positive review with a few explanation of what you shouldn't expect of this game that will lead you to indeed, have a bad experience. First of all, this game is long, I did spend over 5 hours on it and it's a net positive for me as I tend to spend less than 3 hours on most HOG. This game has been ported on Steam in 2015 but I'm unsure it's been made this year as the screen is set as 3:4. You shouldn't play in other difficulty than easy, the reason is because it's easy to miss something and sometimes you will do what you have to do and not notice that it unlocks a new area and the hints will be really useful during those time. There are also items you can pick up a little everywhere and some are hard to notice, especially at the beginning since you don't know how the sparkles and shimmers look like when there is something to inspect. Once you get used to it, every item looks like an elephant in a room. Every HOG scene is used twice, so if you don't know where to go, return to where you found that last HOG game. There aren't many puzzles in that game, the game itself could be considered as a puzzle because it's an old game and nothing is straightforward. Read the Diary and click several times on the area, it won't always give you the same message and you'll get a clue after 2 or 3 times or after you progressed enough for the clue to unlock. Each item that you have to break or tear aparts need you to use your tools twice, there are TWO items just needing your hands, if you listen or read what Ariel is saying, you should know when those moments come. So yeah if you're used to how easy the Artifex Mundi games are, this one will be a reminder of how old HOG were made and they were different at the time. Read the diary, follow the clue and you'll have a good time.

It is not a very good hidden object game. Works fine on Linux with Proton (Proton 4.11-11).

I don't know why this has a low "mixed" rating. I thought is was very solid HOG, easily worth it for the the less than $1 price it goes for at every Steam sale. Good hidden object scenes, good minigame puzzles, no bugs that I saw. For a 10+ year old game it looks fine. Achievements would be nice, but it has trading cards, which are more important and actually make the net cost of the game bought on sale pretty much zero. The story is nonsensical silliness like all HOG's but above average for the genre, and it was kept to a reasonable amount of cutscenes and dialogues and not annoyingly constantly shoved in your face like in many HOG's. Clicking on the objects in the hidden object scenes is slightly finicky sometimes but not nearly enough so to be a significant issue.

A kinda boring HOG with a somewhat decent story. pros. ok story ok gameplay length (around 2 hours 40 for the main story and 35 mins for the bonus story) ok voice acting cons. i encountered 1 bug in the beginning with the oil lamp despite me actually liking HOGs with a bonus story this "bonus story" was just cut from the main story.[spoiler] in the beginning you will meet a woman telling you she lost her 2 boys but after sometime you will only find one of them. the second is the bonus story and all close to the main first spots in the game :/[/spoiler] this game barely passes my recommend limit i'll give it 5/10. get it if you are just a big fan of HOGs and only highly discounted

A pretty nice game. I was afraid that it is as buggy as the other game by the devs, but its pretty good. The thing with the coins was pretty much useless. The puzzles and the overall story was pretty okay. I can recommend it
