Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Still an amazing game... the conversion holds up too. Had a few issues with crashing on load of cut scenes, and at story critical moments when it was loading a lot of content. Had one infuriating crash on the The End screen, which means I have to beat lavos 2 and 3 again to get my new game +... ::Grumble::
Masterpiece.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 5.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Light spoiler warning!! This review mentions some locations, late-game content, and ending related impressions, but avoids detailed plot summary. Chrono Trigger is an S tier masterpiece and one of the clearest examples of what I love most in games: a compact, musical, storybook adventure that respects my time and makes every era feel lived in. Replaying it as an adult confirmed that my childhood memory was not just nostalgia. The game is astonishingly efficient: no filler in the core experience, no wasted dialogue, no bloated quest design, no over explaining, and no need for modern cinematic excess. Its world is represented rather than over rendered, leaving room for imagination. The Millennial Fair and peaceful present of 1000 A.D., the medieval crisis of 600 A.D., the ruined future of 2300 A.D., 65,000,000 B.C. prehistory, the magical kingdom of Zeal in 12,000 B.C., Ocean Palace, Magus’s Castle, the Black Omen, and the ending all feel distinct, memorable, and emotionally coherent. The music, led by Yasunori Mitsuda with contributions from Nobuo Uematsu, Toriyama’s art from the creator of Dragon Ball, the visible party, combo techs, time travel, and compact world map all create the feeling of going on a real adventure with friends. I completed the main game, all the major character sidequests, and the added content: Lost Sanctum, Dimensional Vortex, and Dream’s Epilogue. Lost Sanctum is clearly the weakest part: repetitive, fetch heavy, and unlike the elegant original design, but even it added a lived Reptite village memory to the journey. The main ending was beautiful: the fair restored, the goodbyes, the balloons, and the sense that the world was saved. The animated cinematics were also a wonderful addition as someone who first played the SNES version. They expanded key moments without replacing the imagination of the original presentation. Then playing New Game Plus, soloing Lavos, and reaching the “Dream Project” secret developer room felt like a perfect capstone. Chrono Trigger is not merely a great RPG; it is one of the purest examples of games as interactive adventure, memory, music, and imagination. Technical note: despite some crash reports online, the game never crashed on me in about 30 hours. I did accidentally close it once with Alt F4, and the autosave put me right back in the most recent room, costing maybe 30 to 60 seconds of progress. For anyone on the fence about this version, I’m glad I bought it on Steam instead of just revisiting it elsewhere. The animated cinematics, ending replays, movies, artwork, cloud save, autosave, and simple auto battle option made the experience feel convenient, complete, and worth owning. Auto battle was especially useful for speeding through routine encounters without taking away from the adventure. Essential if you love classic RPGs, and especially worthwhile if you first played the SNES version or never got to experience Chrono Trigger before.
This game is an absolute masterpiece and you should play it if you an RPG fan or want to get into RPGs. Some people say the pc version tends to crash, but it never happened to me.
