Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

I was really looking forward to playing it. It just keeps crashing after some hours invested. I can't properly traverse the world without getting crashes. Tried multiple thing that were recommended online: - compatibility mode windows 8 - lower resolution - install various c++/ 32 bit packages - run in window mode - verify files its just unplayable

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 5.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Legendary game. Still love this game after 30 years.
On steam deck, I've had a single crash within the 24 hours I've played at the time of this review. (Completely on handheld, currently on NG+ to grab all the endings.) The port is a bit rough very rarely, I will sometimes find myself fighting the game to save at a save point: sometimes the save menu refuses to open and it's taken a couple attempts just to do that. Luckily the game has an autosave/bookmark feature and I haven't had any problems. The game runs and feels fine the other 99% of the time, like in battles and exploring the world. This port is missing some extra content from the DS re-release like the in-game bestiary, one animated cutscene, and DS-exclusive features that wouldn't make sense here, like the arena of the ages. In exchange, on steam you get some QoL stuff like auto-battle and the ability to flee combat (this makes Lost Sanctum a lot more bearable). It's an alright port of a classic RPG, this version is more accessible than the DS port but I would probably still prefer the DS. Over 30 years since this game's original release and it still manages to show how innovative it truly was, even now. I would say this game is worth the price at $15, but it often goes on sale for even cheaper. If you haven't played it, definitely pick this one up.
Crashes for no discernable reason. Don't buy.
This game is old, and sucks balls.
