Cat Detective Albert Wilde

This was a very interesting game. It has the style of a typical LA Noir film but is carried so brilliantly by its cast of characters and the constant humour. The story may be wild and the characters may be wacky but this game is definitely worth playing.

I don't think I have played a worse game in such a long time. The game advertises solving a mystery, which requires you to do nothing other than talking by and tapping buttons to get them to continue talking at most less than a sentence at a time, with animal noises every time you do, which gets very dull and repetitive hearing a wolf yap and howl for what feels like 40+ times in a single conversation session... There is no part of the game where you have to put pieces of information together to try and figure it out, its all done for you as you go along pretty much. One thing the game does that I really dislike is when you are walking around in first person, they have tried to put an effect in where its blurry and difficult to see, I have no problem with this idea, it's just full of grey and black artefacts and is absolutely horrible to look at for such a large percentage of the game moving around, rather than actual blur. I think the achievements speak a thousand words here more than the positive reviews, the majority of them are unmissable and this is a short game that takes roughly 4-5 hours to complete. At the time of writing the first achievement sits at 72.9% of players who have unlocked it, while the one at the end of the game is at 27.8%. I felt like giving up but I like to complete games and see the ending before making a final critique... clearly those who were playing it did drop it very quickly. The game has some OK humour here and there, it started off somewhat funny but it falls well off a cliff roughly a third way through and the majority of the characters are just dull. If you're looking for a detective/investigation game to play there are many MANY better alternatives out there.

Cat Detective Albert Wilde really is quite unique. Its like a really good, and really smart comedy show. I loved the writing, it made me laugh a lot actually. The music and visuals are also great, reminding me of the old noir movies. If you’re looking for a fun, engaging way to spend a weekend evening, this game is a perfect pick, it’s not too long, but way more entertaining than just watching a movie.

Juego donde eres un gato medio lelo que tiene que resolver que sucede con los asesinatos que estan ocurriendo en el lugar. A medida que el juego avanza, la trama va siendo mas fumada y el gato todavia mas tonto, superando limites jamas descritos. Recomendado.

I was expecting this game to be more child friendly and have some dry British humour, but it certainly surprised me. Had much fun playing it!
