Reviews
As a person who hasn't played pokemon, casette beasts feels like it assumes that knowledge of the player. I figured with a basic understanding of pokemon and with the stellar reviews I'd be able to make it work, but I couldn't. I'd consistently forget to tape new beasts, struggled with inventory management, and most of all could barely remember the minute differences between each elemental type and their various benefits/drawbacks.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very well made and good fun. The post game offers some good material too but the bulk of the game is in, well, the game. Which is nice not hiding a huge amount of content after the story is ended.
This is a pretty good monster-collector game, especially when I compare it to Pokemon. Few things I like: -Type efficiency. Cassette Beasts have types, but they don't simply deal bonus damage to each other like most other games from the same genre. There are actually pretty interesting effects getting triggered when a typed Beast gets attacked, ranging from DoT, Walls creation, Type change, and multi-targetting (useful against multiple enemies). -Shinies. You know about Pokemon Shinies? Beasts are more interesting, they have bootlegs versions, that not only change their colors, but also change their typing and some of the abilities they can use. -The Story. The story is... Pretty good actually. Gets kinda dark sometimes, but overall it's pretty easy to get invested in the story with the honestly quite relatable characters. -Levelling. The levelling system is somewhat more... Soft, than other games. It's mostly tied to the player level, so you can usually start using a new beast as soon as you unlock them, and you spend less time getting one-shot or one-shotting enemies (which, imo, is a waste of time in other RPGs). You can still level up beast to unlock their skills and stronger forms tho. The things I like less: -Sticker transfer. Once a beast unlocks a skill, you can pretty much give that skill to any other compatible beast you own, without much penalty. Is not that kind of... Too easy? You could get a new Beast and transfer your most powerful build on it with minimal effort and it kinda feels like cheating. Kinda lowers how unique the beasts feel too... At least there are some beast that get really unique skills that they alone can use, but it's underused I think. -Starter stickers. There are stickers that automatically trigger skills at the beginning of a turn without spending any energy. These are the core stickers used for breaking the game, but also make online matches a matter of grinding more rather than actually strategising, which is kinda boring and greatly limits the fun factor. Might be a hot take, but I find these stickers lame and think the game would have more potential if you could not simply abuse these. But, overall, I still like the game.
It's that good
Great Game. If you like the Art-Style this is for you! This game is a typical monster-tamer style game, but it also offers unique and fun mechanics, as well as a nice fusion system. I am gonna record them all!
I wasn't expecting landlord to be villains in the same game as eldrich horrors, but then again I haven't met many landlords.
GOLDKAMUY
A game that explores a lot of ideas that creature collectors often neglect. The mechanics for fusions, shiny monsters, and type interaction have a lot of thought and polish in them. The story has good and bad parts. The story shines when it gives you something to think about and it is weakest when it tells you what to think. Specifically the woke elements. At one point during an "are you still there?" multiple choice dialogue options that is in every creature collector, a major character reveals that they are gay and that they are married (The two options are "you're wife?!" or "you're married?!"). I don't care that they are gay or married, but it is the kind of design choice that leads me to believe the writer is telling me what and how I should think. Something that stood out to me as an element of woke era media. Also the entire glitter type. If DEI representation is something that turns you off from games, then this is probably not for you. But despite those weaker elements the rest of the story covers a wide range of interesting moral dilemmas and meta concepts that pose questions for the player to think about rather than spoon feeding them what to think. Like the separation of the art from the artist. Overall this game was well worth the time I spent to 100% it and I really enjoyed it. This game will make you think.
