About
Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!
Welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!
Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!
Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.
Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or turn magnetic! Take on the Gauntlet – a never-ending battle mode where you’ll face fearsome enemies for precious material and glory!

Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team. The strength of your relationship determines how well you’re able to fuse!
Take advantage of elemental chemistry to apply extra buffs or debuffs alongside your attack, or even alter your opponent’s elemental type!
Team up with a friend in local multiplayer to explore, transform, and fight together!
Party up with Online Multiplayer to trade monster tapes, challenge your friends to 1v1 battles, and team up to take on powerful Rogue Fusion beasts for great rewards!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Pros: Good music, good story, easy to understand battle system with possibilities for complex strategies, boss designs, fights and set pieces are awesome. The Cassette Beasts themselves are pretty cool too. Cons: Grindy at the end if you want to optimise your builds, Need grind currency to increase basic item stacks (which can be seen as a difficulty thing, but I see it as an inconvenience). Traversing the main world until you get certain abilities feels like a chore, especially since the Cassette Beasts seem to chase you with the speed and accuracy of a heat-seeking missile (but they can be repelled), Some party member quests are longer than others, which must be done before you can use the main power up mechanic with them. Minor spoilers for the end of the game:
You see, it's also really good because you get to keep the dog at the end. Best game, 10/10, Barkley is the goodest boy.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this game so much! It's a great twist on the monster collecting genre with fun mechanics, a decent story and nice creature designs. The final fight is an easy 10/10 in my book. Oh and the music slaps
good game
loved every minute of this game with my friends.
Great creature catcher game, obviously crafted by people with a knowledge of and passion for RPGS, specifically JRPGS: I see Cassette Beast's design choices directly influenced by Persona, (such as the gameplay loop typically winding down at a cafe, chatting with party members) Final Fantasy, etc at times. Love it.
Amazing game, would get and play
