Tanto Cuore

Tanto Cuore is a lot of fun ^_^ But it isn't without flaws. The essence of the game is just what you would hope for, if you like the look of the store page. * Every card has a cute maid design <3 They are all named characters with unique appearances, so you can imagine they are all individuals who work for you. * Tanto Cuore is an absorbing card game with complexity, yet it's easy to understand. Every maid has interesting abilities, allowing for different strategies and styles of play. Because the maids are all named characters with the beginnings of personalities, it makes me want to see them developed. I wish the singleplayer campaign had a story. The developers even made a start on giving each maid her own voice - evidenced, for example, when Rosa Topaz says her own name. I'd love to see the devs go further with this! Currently, the maids mostly share a handful of brief utterances. What you get in singleplayer mode is a series of competitions against the maids on your staff, and each one has three stars to collect for winning while certain criteria are true, such as having a particular maid in your private chambers or defending against an opponent sending you bad habits. I like that these starred challenges encourage the player to learn about various strategies and techniques. However, some of them seem to be more down to luck than ability, which can lead to frustration. And some of them, in the Expanding The House mansion, are just TOO HARD! I'm not sure I'll ever collect all the stars for Expanding The House </3 I'm sad about this for a few reasons. The most important is that some levels are locked behind getting the stars, so I'm missing out on some of the game! Another reason is that you earn foil cards and alternative card designs with the stars, and I'd like to see those because they're pretty <3 Quick Play mode is where you get to see the alternative card art, so make sure to play a few rounds there too. Quick Play could do with difficulty options, but I suppose adding more opponents and customising the deck allows you to adjust the challenge somewhat. It is a little on the easy side though. But hey, that's a nice remedy to some of the impossible Expanding The House challenges :'( Along with adjustable Quick Play difficulty, there are some other small annoyances I'd like to see fixed: * being unable to scroll down in the private chambers to see the cards in each player's collection * occasional typos * occasional unclear card descriptions, like writing "Gain 1VP for every five Love cards you have" when they mean specifically '1 Love cards' * the limited number of tracks that play - more music variety would be nice This leads me to the heartbreaking biggest problem: This game is no longer being updated :'( It was very clearly the intention that Tanto Cuore would be updated with all the physical card game's expansions, but it hasn't happened. I would love to see all the expansions released as DLC. I was especially excited for Memento Mori, but seriously, I would buy them ALL. Great implementation of the boardgame. Includes an interesting single player campaign which adds additional goals to each scenario to encourage you to really get to grips with the mechanics. AI is decent enough, though occasionally makes stupid mistakes such as trying to play an event on you when you've already revealed a defence. It will also end the game even when it's obvious you'll score higher, though since Tanto Cuore doesn't really have much in the way of catch up mechanisms (at least in the base game and expanding the house, which is what is implemented at this point) I wouldn't necessarily call this a flaw. For those who are unfamiliar with the boardgame it's a Dominions style deckbuilder with cute anime wifu in cute poses staring out at you from each card. Each turn you play your hand of 5 cards, first spending servings to play maids, then love to buy new maids (or events to play on other players, or buildings et al) to add to your deck or mansion. Finally you draw back up to 5 cards ready for next turn. It's actually a neat little deckbuilder underneath the weeb baiting ecchi art with a strong emphasis on the deck engine thanks to the interplay between the cards, plus the cards and the mansion/private area. It's also a steal at a fifth of the price of the actual physical version.

The scoring method based on a fixed number of cards, private quarters and duel use VP cards were strange decisions I really wanted to like this game. I love dominion and cute anime girls. This just makes me wish I was playing dominion.

I have played every expansion of the physical copy of the game, this is a great virtual version of this game. Its available on TTS but this is a much better experience. Easily create custom games multiplayer games and fun single player campaign. I dont play match making because I like playing by myself or with IRL friends. Cannot wait for the rest of the expansions to release.

I started playing this game back when it first came out while I was in college, and it's still a very fun game to play. I am looking forward to the future expansions being implemented into this. The only real negative I have is that I wish this game had a dark mode because it is very bright.
