So far it is really fun to play and very polished game. I really like visuals, music and enemies are very fun to beat. Great indie game! Edit: After playing some more I have to say that I was hooked by the game. I just finished first dungeon and it was yet challneging but really fun. The game gradually gave me more upgrades and I'm looking forward to play second and third dungeon!
Super polished and fun experience so far! EDIT after 2.5 hours of gameplay: Still loving the game! Devs are responding and fixing bugs, implementing tweaks very fast! ^^ <3

Despite a few confusing design choices and the overall difficulty being rather on the easier side, it has all the elements of addictive rogue-like. Can't wait to dive into more of it.
Written By Hidden Gems Review : https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38624426/, Follow me!
Cardbob is a roguelite game with a very simple gameplay mostly on the melee part, but it's addictive. The problem of this game it's you can complete it in about 3-5 hours so it's pretty short with not much replayabity, I wish could add more features for be a complete game.
An adorable and highly addictive game. If you've ever wanted to experience life of a cardboard box ninja warrior selling junk items at slightly higher prices, now's your moment.

Personally, I dislike rougelike games Actually, dislike is a soft way to put it. I *hate* rougelike games. I can't stand the design, the gameplay, the everything that those kinds of games can offer to me (besides art sometimes, but even that's rare) So when I say Cardbob is one of the most *fun* and *easy to understand* games I have ever played means something. I barely got through the first "stage" of the game and I was already having lots of fun. Sure, the first few runs were horrid slogs of constant hits and a bunch of painful suffering, but as I got better, the game got more fun. It wasn't like Isaac, where most of your strategy comes from luck. You can beat Cardbob without any upgrades *first try* if you'd like and if you are skilled enough. There is no random items besides collectibles you sell for ingame cash. There is no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ downgrades besides your own stupidity and bad choices. There is nothing stopping you from having fun or playing however you want. And don't get me started on the upgrades. I dare say the perma-upgrade system is one of the greatest features (besides haggling) this game has. I am much more excited to both start a new run and try to get new items to unlock new ♥♥♥♥ that I ever did in any other game. Ohhhh and the haggling. It's such a broken mechanic right now, since you can basically abuse a simple trust system to always get 30+ credits more per item if you know what to do, but that doesn't mean it's bad in any way. I love how sometimes you just *have to* sell your stuff short to sell something else at a much higher price. This game is really fun and full of such amazing things. The only thing I'd dare say is missing is some local multiplayer (even if it would just be some kind of arena mode) and I guess mod support, but otherwise this game is worth the (criminally low) price. Can't wait to someday play more from these devs. Also this is the first time I wrote such a long review on steam lmao
The game Cardbob has a very beautiful visual design. The gameplay is dynamic and refreshing, and it is complemented by excellent music. I highly appreciate the option to negotiate the price with the merchant. Each death pushed me further and further, and I had an increasing desire to keep playing the game. I look forward to immersing myself fully in the game. I definitely recommend this game wholeheartedly.
What a charming little game! It looks and sounds great, with tons of character, clever boss designs, a funny haggle mechanic, and you get to play as a cardboard ninja in a world made out of cardboard. You can't make this up. Moreover, it runs absolutely smoothly on the Steam Deck. What a debut!
I really like art style.
