Great soundtrack that keeps the pace. Cool game to unwind and relieve stress. Controls are well-designed, pretty pleasant and intuitive gaming experience. Character movement is fluid and responsive, making gameplay enjoyable. Animations are well-executed, adding to the game's overall polished feel. The isometric perspective is my personal preference. The game's price is reasonable, making it an excellent value for the entertainment it provides.
Cyberfield is a solid addition to the roguelike gaming genre. It offers a challenging experience where you must gather a combination of skills and enhancers to progress in the steel arena. While it may not reinvent the wheel, it certainly provides an enjoyable and addictive gaming experience. The game's cyberpunk-inspired visuals create an immersive atmosphere, and the combat mechanics are responsive and engaging. Customizing your character's abilities is a fun aspect, offering some degree of strategy in adapting to different situations. While it doesn't break new ground, Cyberfield is a decent choice for fans of the roguelike genre looking for an enjoyable, if somewhat familiar, challenge. Cyberfield might not be a revolutionary title, but it's a competent and entertaining addition to the roguelike gaming landscape. If you enjoy testing your skills in the steel arena and appreciate the depth of customization, this game is worth a look.
What a Masterpiece
Dynamic music and fights, what else do we need? No technical issues found. Excellent for a product at its price
Just started, but Im hooked. Smooth controller gameplay. It wasnt immediately clear that you have to manually swap different types of enhancers - not obvious. Overall, its fast-paced and there is no time to get bored.
Sometimes even a generic roguelike manages to provide hours of fun. Combat is simple, but it provides a couple of hours of entertainment. You have your primary attack, a ranged strike that causes little damage and needs to recharge, a dash or dodge that takes a second or two to use again, and a special power. Because there is no need to worry about stamina, action is quick and unrestricted. The goal of the game is to defeat every enemy in a small arena-style stage. These arenas look empty because there are only a few items available there. Aside from enemies, there are destructible boxes that sometimes drop cash and traps that hurt you. When all of the enemies are defeated, a teleporter to the next arena is activated. And you keep going as long as you possibly can. What I particularly appreciate about this game is that enemies start to glow when they’re about to attack, giving you enough time to dodge. The types include robots, spiders, drones and many other. When you destroy a few hundred of the same type, the damage against it increases. There are two rewards for beating enemies. The first is a skills chip that drops after you clear the room. This allows you to improve your basic stats such as damage or critical. As usual, you can only select one of three random choices. Because you only have place for five distinct upgrades, you must plan ahead because you cannot remove them. When all five slots are filled, the next skill points will raise the level of the acquired upgrades to maximum level 5. The second reward are enhancers that drop randomly from enemies. These are unique skills that can be active or passive. They have no restrictions and can be utilized freely, but you never know what you'll get until you pick it up. The drawback is that you may only carry three at a time, so you'll have to replace one or leave it behind. They do, however, come in a variety of quality tiers. Enemies drop coins. An excellent approach to get some nice loot is to complete a stage without getting hit once. Coins are utilized at the main hub, which you visit following each death. You can improve various permanent stats here, such as health, better rewards and many other things. Overall, the game is quite simple because I was able to beat the final boss on stage 26 on my second try. It’s very feasible to create a lethal build. With lightning strikes that travel to other targets and the potential to throw more at the cost of one, the ranged assault, in particular, may be turned into an overpowered move. Achievements are grindy and depend on luck. Most are earned for getting the legendary drops, which happen very rarely.
It's like Hades when you remove all the interesting parts. Barebones, not a lot of choice, nothing special. Every run feels exactly the same. Did you expect anything else from a 1 dollar game?
Game is pretty decent, especially for the price. The animations are eye catching and the aesthetic works. However, what keeps this from being a great game (worth at least double the price), is the core play. The fighting. First the right stick aiming for the throw ability is horrible. Seems locked into certain vectors and you think you are aiming at 3 o'clock but you end up shooting at 2 o'clock. The isometric view makes it harder to gauge your aim. Miss so many shots unnecessarily that often leave you open for an attack you otherwise were expecting to interrupt. The melee is locked in the direction you are facing, which is fine, makes sense but again the aiming is just off, the hit box is uncler, and the locked animation timing is clunky. The dash is smooth though, short (but hidden) cool down. The throw cool down is a bit slow and I was expecting to find upgrades to this but so far I have not. The core mechanics are a bit shallow but not hollow. You can carry and swap up to three special upgrade cubes and at the end of every round you get a skill upgrade card, you can choose 1 of 3 (as is so familiar) and these are a bit more generic, +damage, +crit, etc to each ability. The cubes are much more interesting but you can only hold three. They have rarities regular, advanced, legendary etc and color codings but they don't seem to match the rarity designation so I am not sure what that is about. So far no parry or defend mechanic that I can see. At least one button seems totally wasted on the controller. But you CAN custom map the controls so that is a big plus. All in all, for the price I cannot in good conscience give a not recommend, but I do hope the devs are paying attention and work on these issues...
