Broken Sword 5 - the Serpent's Curse

It's a decent point-and-click adventure game. The story is kinda mid with a few interesting moments, the characters are mostly forgettable, and some of the puzzles are borderline impossible without outside help (I'm looking at you desk puzzle). Would I suggest it? If you are a fan of the Broken Sword series, then yes. But if you are a newcomer to the series, go and play either the 1st or 2nd game first as your enjoyment of them will determine if this game is worth considering buying. Overall, I'd say buy it on a sale. The story, the puzzles, and the characters and their dialogue are the main focuses of games like this, and unfortunately it's a rather average game, a servicable 5/10. It's not bad, but it's also not good. If you want to take my word for it, I never laughed once at any joke or supposedly funny moment in this game, meanwhile with 1 and 2 I did laugh several times.

Cela me fait très plaisir de retrouver Georges et Nico dans une nouvelle aventure. L'ambiance est très similaire aux 2 premiers épisodes avec une enquête sur un meurtre et sur une étrange malédiction. Les décors sont très jolis, les animations 3D des personnages sont imparfaites mais rien de bien grave. Quel plaisir aussi de retrouver les voix originales et ce sens de l'humour très particulier. J'attends de voir la suite mais le début de l'aventure n'augure que du bon !

Me ha entretenido bastante sobre todo la segunda parte del juego, he de decir que es interesante pasarselo entero, porque si te pasas solo una parte te deja con ganas de más.

This is an excellent game, and brings Broken Sword classic mechanics back into the game, after the mixed performances of Broken Swords 3 and 4. It's unfortunate that Broken Sword had lost momentum after Broken Sword 5, and they felt it necessary to revisit older versions of the game and neglecting new Broken Sword releases.

Not bad, but not good either. Decent in parts, some sections and characters felt massively out of place. The story is good for the most part but the ending is very poor. The puzzles start off ok but then become stupid. You would think with all that experience you would sit down and write a tight story with solid puzzles, but it was a bit of a mixed bag. Would I recommend this game, yes definitely, even with all it's flaws it's still a classic point and click game with loads of charm.
