Beautiful game. Although the puzzles can be a little obtuse and lack handholding, it was still a very enjoyable experience. It really captured a lot of modern frutiger aero and memphis design aesthetics really well. I was hoping for some more answers to the story, and the true ending wasn't as impactful as Broken Reality's, but it still was a great game.
Truly an unique experience just like the first one. even though compared to the previous game this one feels like lacking some elements that made that good. I would said the new things are refreshing and cool visual wise Dig the soundtrack. nothing negative about it. But I do miss the ending of the first broken reality where even the story is much lacking than 2000(Nothing against rock/punk since its so 2000). When this ultra trippy yet stunning visuals combined the song bae. I just felt some emotions that is very hard to explain. A feeling that is not about broken but rather hopeful sadness. A world I never got chance to be in but so so familiar for no reason. And I truly adore this feeling The cloud section in this game gives that vibe hard. Somewhat uncanny but still breathtaking Please include more of these in your future projects or more. A sequel would be much appreciated If I do have to do some nitpicking. I'd say yes the progression is lacking a TINY bit of guidance. It feels like playing the original system shock where you have to explore every corner and find clues from tapes and files in order to make progress. Which I can understand that it is the whole point of walking simulators. To explore on their own and find out secrets. But just maybe add some tips once and a while will fix the problem. Anyways, really enjoyed it. Absolutely waiting for your next work. Take your time. Make it bigger(so running can be an option without needing a cosmetic surfboard). Love your work. See ya!
After finishing it and seeing both endings, I wish I could give this something between a thumbs up and thumbs down. This game feels extremely half-baked, especially when compared to its predecessor. The opening area is quite nice and got me excited, but in the second half especially, it just becomes full of huge empty spaces with not much to do, almost like it's unfinished. The amount of bugs here also lend credence to that idea. I had dozens of periodic audio freezes and full-game freezes. There's also an extreme amount of pop-in for some reason, as though the draw distance is really low. I noticed this especially in the final area, which was a total slog to play through and was the worst area of the game. It's kind of disappointing that this game starts out so strong in the first area and then every subsequent area is just slightly worse than the last. The last three areas are just not fun to play but I kept playing because I was hoping that it would turn around by the end, or that the ending would justify the last half. Just letting you know right now, if you've played the first game, you know how wild the ending is. Unfortunately, both endings in this one feel very anti-climactic and weak. All of that said, I'm still recommending this game for people who just want something more from the first game. It's not a bad game, I just wouldn't call it good either really. It has little joys here and there. If you haven't played either this game or its sequel, I'd recommend just playing the first game if you're interested. There's not much that this game has going for it that the first game doesn't. I couldn't say the opposite at all though.
fr playin just some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it
I enjoyed this game quite a bit! I don't think it quite reaches the heights of the first game, but it is a tough act to follow. The new abilities are an improvement on the original, and the levels are still fun to explore and figure out how to advance through. However, I found that backtracking got very frequent and somewhat tedious due to a lack of shortcuts once you reach the end of an area. This wasn't helped by some progression bugs that didn't unlock paths when intended, although those have been getting patched pretty quickly. The soundtrack is excellent again, although I sometimes found the game to be too 'ambient' where the music took too long to kick in and get going.
