Very fun and very challenging. I really like the pixel graphics and how the world is still extremely immersive.
This is some good stuff.

I never leave reviews, but this game is amazing. It's still in a pretty rough state with some jank and placeholder assets, but as long as the dev keeps working on the game this will end up being PEAK. I love it so far.

You have to think on your feet and you'll get the job done.
Barely played the Demo, so I don't have any perspective on the changes from the Demo to this that have people upset, but so far this is quite fun. Zero polish though, tons of friction, and definitely not the pick up and play arcade of the previous game. Think of it as an isometric mad-max PvE extraction shooter with an incredible soundtrack and you'll be on the right track to understanding it.
Early Access isn't a shield from criticism. I loved the original Brigador, and the Killers demo had me hooked. I was happy to pay $25 for Early Access. Then I discovered the paid release has less content than the free demo. Maybe the missing vehicles, missions, crafting, and other content will return later. Fine. But I'm reviewing the game I'm actually being asked to pay for, not the game it might become someday. My bigger problem is that the current progression does not respect your time. I like difficult games. But Killers doesn't just challenge you. It can erase everything you've spent a run building up. You can spend half an hour scavenging and putting together a decent loadout, only to get wiped out and lose everything. Everything. Guns, armor, ammo, even the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unicycle you just spent half an hour building out of scrap. Gone. All gone. Then you're sent back to earlier missions to grind for weapons and ammunition so you can try again. This isn't a matter of “git gud.” The game deliberately introduces escalating reinforcements to punish you for staying too long. A successful run can suddenly turn into a death sentence. When the punishment for that death is losing your equipment, you're not being encouraged to experiment. You're being encouraged to play as safely as possible. What's especially frustrating is that the game already has so little content. Forcing players to repeatedly re-grind earlier missions just to recover from failure feels like an artificial way of stretching what is already a very limited amount of content. The art, soundtrack, atmosphere and core combat are excellent. That's what makes this so frustrating. But I'm judging the $25 game that exists today, not a hypothetical future 1.0. Right now, the free demo has more content, while the paid game can deliberately cut your run short, wipe out everything you've built, and send you back to repeat old content. That's not difficulty. That's wasting the player's time. Play the demo. Keep your money until the game actually respects your time.
Absolutely great game. It has everything a good game must have: - Individual visual style provided by own engine. - Wonderful visual design and graphics design. - Interesting story\plot. - Nice music. - Unusual (for these days) gameplay. But most important: this game brings back joy and fun of old games from 90s. Musthave.
I'm having alot of fun with the game right now. Its very much a more looter shooter bent then the previous game which was much more focused on the vehicular combat and mass mayham side of things. Not that you can't get up to trouble in the mean time of course, its just that in terms of scale its much more drawn back (though I guess thats because its an early access title at the end of the day) The first mission is very much in line with how the first game was. Big, large set piece where you go around causing destruction from inside your vehicle. It can be a little jaring to go from that mission to how the game normally plays-on foot, or inside smaller less capable vehicles. Still, I think its pretty fun. I can definetly see how things have improved compared to the demo- alot of the artwork and assets have been polished though you can find plenty of early access jank as you play. I know that many are upset about how the demo lets you play with more capable weapons then the early access right now, but I'm very confident thats gonna change as development continues. So, all in all, I'm looking forward to where Brigador Killers will go.
