Very early access, but the loop is 100% there. The game is actiony, but I'm catching myself looking for tactical opportunities rather than panicking - which is what I spent most of my time in Brigador 1 doing. Sorta feels like the game is teaching me what would have made me better at the original game. In terms of immediately fixable stuff - I'd say the guns could use some basic descriptions of what they'll do when you shoot them. Figuring it out is fun, but there isn't really a shooting range sorta thing and you drop your stuff when you die. Maybe a soul (items) retrieval minigame with a low HP tuk-tuk? When playing other stuff at this level of polish, I usually can't really tell what 1.0 will look like. I end up sorta vaguely hoping that a game will improve. For Brigador Killers 1.0, though, I pretty much just want more of what the EA release has to offer. Insanely sick game
Extremely rough around the edges, especially UI wise, and has less content than the demo, but the foundation is extremely solid and the gameplay itself is boatloads of fun. Also this time you get to do Terrorism (good) and not Terrorism (bad).

Despite this being a positive review, as of now, if you are on the fence about purchasing the game I would just recommend playing the demo. While the game is still good, I feel like parts of the early access feel like a step back. While the additions are mostly good, they come with a lot of problems. The AI feels dumber than before, with enemies not being alerted to me right after firefights, VIP's attempting to fight you with their fists instead of trying to run, or being unable to find me after having just shot them from behind. The balance also still feels generally off, but I admittedly cannot give great criticism in that department. The UI also lacks clarity often, merchants sell items that are all shown as names and the same crate icon, leaving me mostly puzzled as to what exactly it is I'm actually going to buy. In addition, despite the prevalence of cars on the map, it feels completely random as to which cars you can or cannot use, at least in the early missions. While I understand the need to balance the early missions, why not just remove the vehicles or give them destroyed models if we cant use them? Overall, I feel like the game has great potential, but a lot of the changes feel like a step back from the demo.
the biggest and most obvious issue here is releasing an early access with an emphasis on narrative while the strengths for now are very much on the gameplay side, so you get these limits on your builds due to the place in the story, i still really like the game because im a stellar jockeys shill, and i still had a lot of fun in the campaign that is there, but i think to appease people for now there needs to be either a lot more open to you in the early game (like the power suit heavily featured in promotional material) or you just add a separate game mode where you do rando missions with a structure more like the first games freelancer mode (i know this is somewhat what the current iteration of the garage is, but it just needs to let you loose more if we wont see massive campaign additions soon). overall i still really like where theyre going with the story, this game in the long run WILL be hotline miami 2 to brigadors hotline miami 1, more violent, broader story scope, and terrorist cells. it needs time to get there sadly, as this already took like 7 years to get out the door, but we take those. some complete games cant even keep my attention for 10+ hours, and ive supported much rougher early access endeavors, sorry daimon blades. we take those.
Felt clanky as a first impression, far from a frictionless experience but something in the whole package of the brigador setting, story hook and the gameplay setpieces in the available few story missions just clicked with me. Didn't do anything past the end of the current slice of the story mode tho, playing games in EA doesn't work for me.
Anyone complaining about difficulty is legitimately having a skill issue.
Played through all current content without cheating, extraction shooter is a good idea, kept me playing. The game is as fun as expected, just may be a little too early for early access, the current state is almost the same as Demo. Looking forward to updates.
I feel that my time could be better spend playing the game than coming up with a review to write. I feel like this game was made for me in particular, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
This game is beyond fantastic, I can't believe people are apparently getting filtered by the first boss. Just shoot him in the back. It's an extraction game, get in, get out, bring the right gear and equipment, take what you need and pick your battles. The shotguns are incredible, the amount of lore for every item in the game is incredible. Rocks, *Rocks* have a good chunk of lore I've never seen in a game before, it goes to show the sheer passion and dedication the developers have to not just making good gameplay but also a good story. Just simply fantastic.
Fun game, not too much to do after 11-12 hours but of course its early access. Gameplay is moderately difficult but rewarding. After getting a few vehicles and upgrading them it gets easy. Glad I bought it, would love to see where the game goes development wise
