Your adopted brother Jace was attacked by a being known as an Other as a young boy and you are trying to find a cure for his disease. You have found the Others world and entered into it. There is friction between humans and Others because they are feared for their powers. This is quick paced HO game with very few HO scenes and many mini puzzles. Game is a good length and I found it enjoyable. There is an interactive map for fast travelling which shows active areas. Bonus chapter folllowed on from main story. Each scene has a hidden raven in it and you can go back and track down the missing ones in the extras page. All collected ravens will give you another HO scene. The extras also shows your achievements and has other mini-games. An entertaining game to wile away your time. 7.5/10
You play as Jane, who hunts Others with her adopted brother Jace. Jace was cursed by one of the Others, which are sort of witches. Others have been plaguing mankind for some time. You have managed to track down the Other who cursed Jace so long ago. But she is also hunting you… The plot is thrilling, the minigames entertaining, and the HO scenes are fun. Worth the price.
Had trouble getting this to run. Kept getting an error 51, turns out that Cogeco Security interferes with it. If you run into this problem you can temporarily disable the Deep Guard and the game will run
Good game. I've played most of the series and have enjoyed them. This one was long which I liked.
Good quality game
I've played many HOGs, many strange and weird tales, but this beats the lot for totally OTT fantasy scenes, weak unoriginal story (bro gets captured by evil witches, I must save him) and repetitive puzzles. We do the same puzzles over and over again wrapped up in different guises, but ultimately just tedious. Oh, and of course all witches are bad, ugly and have super-long talons and cackling laughter.
superbe
I'm not accustomed to playing hidden object puzzle games, unfortunately, the genre does not seem to hit the mark for me. The story was hackneyed cheap middle school fantasy which made it difficult to stay engaged. Despite my initial reservations about going into the genre in the first place, there were some redeeming qualities. The atmosphere was nicely crafted and I think the atmosphere is probably the point of these games. The visuals were detailed for what it was and it almost even made it immersive for my experience. The music was my main highlight, adding a pleasant auditory backdrop to the game. The mechanics were straightforward and became repetitive over time. The puzzles and hidden object scenes were well-designed and were pleasantly forgiving. While the game didn't captivate me, it was still a well-crafted atmosphere with enjoyable music. If you're a fan of hidden object games and enjoy the witchy fantasy storylines I think you'll find enjoyment here.
Bridge to Another World: The Others Collector’s Edition is a classic hidden-object puzzle adventure that leans heavily into dark fantasy storytelling, methodical exploration, and richly illustrated environments. Developed by Friendly Fox and published by BFG Entertainment, the game fits squarely within the established HOPA tradition while offering a more somber and emotionally driven narrative than many casual entries in the genre. From the opening moments, it positions the player in a personal crisis that quickly escalates into a supernatural journey across strange realms, giving the mystery a sense of urgency and emotional weight. The story revolves around a desperate attempt to save your brother, who has been struck by a mysterious curse inflicted by shadowy beings known as the Others. What begins as a personal rescue mission gradually unfolds into a larger confrontation with forces that exist beyond the boundaries of the ordinary world. The narrative is delivered through dialogue, environmental details, and cinematic transitions, steadily expanding the scope of the conflict while maintaining a strong emotional anchor. Although the plot follows familiar genre tropes, it is presented with enough care and atmosphere to remain engaging throughout the adventure. Gameplay follows the well-established hidden-object adventure formula, blending scene exploration, inventory management, and a wide variety of puzzles. Players move between hand-crafted locations, searching for hidden items that are either listed traditionally or integrated organically into the environment. These scenes are designed to reward careful observation rather than pixel hunting, with most objects clearly visible once players slow down and scan the scene. The pacing of hidden-object sections is balanced by frequent puzzle interludes, ensuring that gameplay doesn’t become monotonous or overly repetitive. The puzzles themselves range from simple logic challenges to more elaborate mechanical contraptions that require multiple steps to solve. Many puzzles are contextualized within the environment, making them feel like natural obstacles rather than abstract brainteasers. Difficulty generally remains accessible, but there is enough variety to keep players mentally engaged. A hint system is available for those who want a more relaxed experience, reinforcing the game’s casual-friendly design without trivializing the challenge entirely. Visually, the game relies on detailed, atmospheric artwork to establish its tone. Locations are steeped in dark fantasy aesthetics, with eerie architecture, magical effects, and moody lighting that reinforce the sense of danger and mystery. The art direction emphasizes clarity as much as mood, ensuring that important interactive elements remain readable even in visually dense scenes. Complementing the visuals is a subdued soundtrack that underscores emotional moments and heightens tension without overwhelming the experience. The Collector’s Edition content adds meaningful value for players who enjoy fully completing their adventures. A bonus chapter extends the narrative beyond the main story, offering additional locations and puzzles that deepen the lore surrounding the Others. Collectible elements scattered throughout the game encourage exploration and replay, while extras such as concept art, wallpapers, and the soundtrack provide insight into the game’s creative process. The built-in strategy guide is especially useful for players who want to experience everything without frustration. In terms of pacing, Bridge to Another World: The Others Collector’s Edition maintains a steady rhythm that favors immersion over speed. Progression feels deliberate, with each chapter introducing new environments and mechanics without overwhelming the player. While this measured pace may feel slow to those unfamiliar with the genre, it aligns well with the game’s focus on atmosphere and story. The experience is best enjoyed when approached as a gradual unraveling of a mystery rather than a race to the conclusion. Overall, Bridge to Another World: The Others Collector’s Edition is a polished and content-rich entry in the hidden-object adventure genre. It succeeds by combining a personal, emotionally grounded story with engaging puzzles and strong visual presentation. While it does not reinvent the genre, it refines its core elements with confidence and care. For players who enjoy dark fantasy settings, story-driven exploration, and methodical puzzle solving, it offers a satisfying and immersive journey that stands as a solid representative of classic HOPA design.
