Borderlands Game of the Year

i am surprised you can get the original version of the goty version of borderlands. i can't really tell you the difference between this and the re-release of this. i can say that this version still runs perfectly fine. i only had a couple problems like the top of a few sets of stairs having collision issues where you would need to jump to get past the very top of the staircase, and mostly in the knoxx dlc where audio logs would cut out halfway through, which could be fixed by pausing the game and returning to the game. it is still a great borderlands game. the first entry to pandora and the universe it has turned into, getting a glimpse of the terrible desert planet where everything is trying to kill you, and everything sucks. it is surprisingly fairly normal and serious with hints of goofiness added to it. not until the dlc did you really get the best humor, i believe the knoxx dlc is the best of them all, it has the most goofy thigs you can se borderlands evolving from. of al the games, i think they are all fine, but this first game, i still believe is the best designed of everything. it hit that sweet spot of sci-fi space western in a giant desert. it truly is the wild west.

Lowkey this game is worse than every other instalment in terms of gameplay, BUT it just has that charm yknow, that games for xbox live gold feel, that coming home with your friends gamertag written down on a scrap piece of paper in your pocket charm

Despite its strengths, the game shows its limitations through repetitive mission design, frequently relying on basic fetch and combat objectives. The narrative, while occasionally engaging, often plays second fiddle to the gameplay, and solo progression can feel more laborious than rewarding.

Play Enhanced instead

[h1]The only good Borderlands game is Borderlands 2...[/h1] [b]BL1 In short: Main story gameplay 5/10 [/b] [b]DLCs: 3/10 [/b] Very unbalanced weapon drops in BL1. Some weapons are more powerful from 10 levels ago than you get on your current level... Most enemies are just bullet sponges, with higher levels getting more ridiculous. Gets boring super fast. Main story gameplay is just 5/10 at best. Instead of playing the game you constantly have to focus on atrociously horrible RNG loot looking for a better weapon. The Characters you play are also very unbalanced. Brick character is probably the most useless and underpowered. (Unfortunately it's the one that I had mained) One of the DLCs , specifically "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" is so BAD and unbalanced that it's pretty much unplayable solo. Rating the DLCs - just 3/10... Save yourself from the pain of frustration and just don't buy this game, it's really not worth it.

[h1] Returning to this game 16 years later. Does it actually hold up? [/h1] Coming from a longtime Borderlands fan... only buy this on sale. I’ll be completely transparent. I have a lot of nostalgia for this series. Borderlands was one of the first games I played with friends, exploring an open world full of loot, fighting bosses, and experiencing it together. I remember playing Call of Duty every single day after school, and Borderlands was the game that finally pulled me away from that, and I feel like that really matters. But coming back to it 16 years later, I realized there’s a lot about this game that feels very generic. [h2][b]The Good[/b][/h2] • The loot is still special. It makes getting kills and progressing feel fun and rewarding. There’s something genuinely unique about Borderlands loot. • The game is funny. The crude humor holds up, and I found myself laughing again at moments I got to re-experience. • It still feels like a solid first-person shooter. Movement, mantling, and general gameplay all feel good. • The skill system isn’t overwhelming. It’s nice having clear direction instead of too many choices. • The characters are classics. They feel distinct and make you want to try different classes. • Bosses are unique and memorable. • Extremely fun with friends. Better with other people, but still playable solo. [h2][b]The Not So Good[/b][/h2] • Controls feel off. Sensitivity is too fast, even at the lowest setting. • No FOV slider. Very noticeable by modern standards (it personally really bugged me). • Mission structure is repetitive. Go here, do this, kill that, come back, repeat. [h2]TLDR[/h2] It’s hard for me to review this game because of nostalgia, but I personally think it still holds up. That said, a lot of it feels dated, especially the mission design and settings. If you’re curious or have nostalgia for it, it’s worth trying. Otherwise, there are better modern options. Played the first Borderlands back when it first came out in 2009 on PS3. Back then I didn't watch game trailers or follow any hype for games. Friends told me it was a Role Playing Game with guns. Grabbed it the night it came out and didn't go to bed until early in the morning. Nearly called in sick at my job. I enjoy playing BL1 and BL2 as they are the most fun. Yeah sure, BL3 and BL4 are out but there is something I can't put my finger on when playing the older titles. I installed mods for BL1 for the first time and currently feel like I am playing the game again for the first time since it was released.

this game is hella fun to me, and if you like this, I'd recommend Doom (2016) or ULTRAKILL

El estudio es una kk, las cosas como son, pero el juego está guay y aún más con amigos. Me lo he pasado dos veces y media así que no puedo no recomendarlo. Trae buenos recuerdos supongo. Tengo pocas horas jugadas porque a medio camino me fui a la enhanced edition, pero vamos que al final es lo mismo.
