About
Bobo Bay is a cozy pet simulation game where you raise Bobos day by day. Train them, accessorize them, mash (breed) new generations, compete in events, explore randomized islands, improve the town, and discover new species as they grow.

Thousands of combinations. Body color, eye color, body part shapes, patterns, sheens, stats, personality traits, etc will all change with each Bobo you find or mash!
Distinct Bobo traits and moods will completely change how you interact and care for your Bobos.
Bobos start their life as Saplings and grow into a Seedling, developing based on their stats, before finally growing to a full grown Bud. When the time is right, they will then Sprout, giving you the chance to let it evolve!
Don't miss the chance to take down the legendary Bobo Stars. If your Bobo beats one of these blockheads then you'll be rewarded with a brand new sapling that is the same species as the Bobo Star. Watch out for those Phantoms...

Trials: Scheduled competitions every day that any Bobo can enter. Make sure to come by at night to have your night owl bobos take on different competitions. Train up for relay races as well.
Sagas: The main progression of Bobo Bay, where you complete all contests, in order, with the same Bobo. Completing Sagas will bring the biggest rewards, including new maps, new species of Bobos, and special town unlocks!

Walk through a cute little town to buy accessories for your Bobos to wear, register a new Bobo, visit the doctor, drop them off at camp, purchase snacks for your Bobo to eat, or even adopt a Bobo from the shelter.
Raise money for Public Works Projects to help open up new shops, renovate existing ones, and even buy new things for your gardens.
Watch out for the alley at night...

Take your state-of-the-art electric Bayfarer out on the open ocean to explore a fresh set of randomized islands each day. Scavenge rare items, race time trials, tackle platforming challenges, and uncover strange new shores no one has ever seen before.

legally distinct chao garden from Sonic Adventure 2. play this if you're a real one
I have more hours in this than this steam account says but while this is a great game it has a big issue with repetitivity. you end up doing the same routine pretty much every single day. nothing really mixes it up.

i love my bobos
I want to like it, but it's so heavily rng based. There was an update with the goal of giving players more agency, but it still feels very far off. Along with everything being rng based, the grind is just very slow and so each day feels like it has no impact. The UI is also clunky and it can be very tedious tracking each bobo's stats and you have to navigate to different menus a lot and it just feels bad. Love the art and dialogue and story, so I'm planning to return and hope I can one day recommend this game :) Also this is just for the dev I know the field rations are the idea for auto feeding, but I'd love if there some was some kind of like mid to late game coconut autofeeder for all the bobo's who I'm actively indifferent towards. I want to own several bobos just for their aesthetics for breeding, but it gets so overwhelming to have more than like a max of 4 bobos per shift.
As Sega continues to spiral into failure due to recent events at the time of writing this post, one brave indie dev gave us all the project Adventure 2 fans have craved for years on end. countless friends of mine who grew up on Adventure 2 say the same thing: "if they just released a chao garden mobile game, i'd play it." and it fell on deaf ears. until now. Bobo bay is the game we've all been waiting for. no microtransactions, adorable creatures, addictive gameplay loop, and updates that bring this game closer and closer to reliving our childhood. if you didn't grow up on sonic adventure 2, i don't expect you to give a damn about this game. maybe you play it once or twice, call it cute, and move on. but for me? i'm happy to be a father again. my children will throw galaxies. and if you invest in this game, so can yours. (galaxies not included)
I talk as someone who was absolutely obsessed with the Chao garden on SA2B on the GCN. This game is a cute, relaxing and amusing time waster. There isnt that much to do, but doing things isnt the point. You'll find little buddies, feed them fruit to improve their many stats and then enter them in little competitions (you don't control them) to earn money to buy more fruit. As the in-game days pass, you'll have enough money to improve the tiny town or get little accessories for your buddies (sunglasses, hats, shoes, etc). Then there's the jetski where you can go to a small batch of randomly generated islands to hunt for treasures (fruits, accessories, other stuff) each day. Its fun, its chill, and you can give your little buddy a sword to beat up the other guys in the competitions. 10/10 would recommend.
Everything I wanted from a Chao Garden successor.
Pretty good, I just think there could still be some improvements to be made, like the economy, because I never felt yet like I have the spare money to spend in public funding
THE BOBO'S ARE SO CUTEEEE!! THEY'RE ADORABLE WHEN THEY DO TRHE LITTLE RACINGTHINGS MY HEARTS GONNA EXPLODE ITS SO CUTE !!! ITS LIKE CHAO GARDEN FROM SONIC ADVENTURE 2 (OR 1) BUT WITH A FRESH COAT OF PAINT !
