So many ways to get stuck without hope of progress. You are given 4 dog treats to find the missing cow, which is required to progress, but if you mess up, there is no other way to earn, buy or make more treats. So, you have to start all over from the beginning. The movements are a bit strange, but you can get used to it eventually. The personalization of your character is really weak. Clothing is difficult to obtain and so far, my character still looks like a guy for the most part. The graphics are pretty good and the gameplay is chill and no rush, but for full price, your money is much better off spent on a different game.
Too many issues. Too many bugs. Cant complete some quests early in the game as the quests that should trigger NPC's to give you items don't trigger those items. The first time I played, the game didn't trigger giving me the pickaxe which is required for some quests. I heard you have to restart the game completely to fix this wasting the time I had put in already. However, I liked playing so I did that. The second time I tried playing, it still didn't trigger being passed the pickaxe and even added not giving me the bug net. Hours wasted I give up. It's not worth trying to play multiple times, putting hours in and just hoping that you don't get what seems to be a common issue. Upon researching this seems to be an issue commonly faced for over a year so why are there no patches fix this yet?
Just dishonour on the farming sim games. Was expecting a cosy game but the UI is just a mess and the mechs became too grindy or too anti-climatic. Will check again after further updates.
This is a cute game. But, I played through the main game and the DLC quests, ran around to see what else there was to do, and the game feels unfinished. There are several items to collect that have no purpose. Like the "highly valuable" goose feather that you can't make anything with, and it's not needed for a quest, so all you can do with it is sell it for change. There are plums, pears, and other fruit/food that have no recipes to use them in. The DLC cut scenes just leave you hanging without dialect or activity. You just transport to a place and basically sit there until you back out of it (with prompts asking if you really want to end the cutscene). The game feels like there were great things to come or great potential, and then it was abandoned before finishing. Plus, albums and collections can't be completed because either things were removed from the game or planned but never implemented into the game. So there are albums with a blank space for an item that can never be obtained. When I play a cozy game, I'm the type that likes to collect everything that the game offers, complete albums, quests, and make every craft/cooking recipe available. But this game just leaves me hanging with items that I can't use and items that I can't obtain. But, if you like cute cozy games, and don't mind that you can't complete collections, then this might be for you. It was a huge "let down" for me.
Everdream Valley charmed me immediately with its adorable animal sprites and the freedom to build my farm however I wanted — no rigid grids, just drop crops and enclosures wherever feels right, which is genuinely refreshing compared to other farming sims. The dream sequences where you chat with your animals are a sweet touch, and the optional mini-games for milking and shearing add just enough interactivity without overstaying their welcome since you can skip them. That said, I spent more time fighting the controls than I care to admit — nearly everything is mapped to one button, leading to accidental demolitions and consumed items at the worst moments, and herding animals is less 'use the dog whistle' and more 'pet the sheep every 20 seconds and pray.' The quest progression is also oddly gated, leaving you confused about basic mechanics like feeding animals until long after you needed to know. If you can stomach the rough edges and grab it on sale, there's a genuinely cozy game buried here — but go in knowing it still feels more early access than a polished release.
Einfach Nein! Soll man hier ständig hin und her rennen? Seid ihr echt so einfallslos was Quests betrifft?) Was soll das? 😩
Bit of a buggy mess but the core gameplay loop is alright. I had all sorts of performance issues with what should be just a casual game which soured my experience. Many of the quests require either a bunch of repeated grinding (duck quest 6 trips back and forth!), or are just flat out broken (owl quest). Not recommend for me just because Steam forces us into a binary yes/no, but it might scratch someone's farming itch.
