What drew me to this game was the premise of the defeated monsters becoming the cards in your deck. It's a novel premise for a deck builder, and it works very well. There are different strategies depending on which monsters you face, and therefore which cards you optionally add to your deck. Even better, your character has stats, which can be increased to add more hit points, more damage, extra mana, and more to make battles easier. Further customization is possible using skills, acquired from treasure rooms, the in game shop, or leveling your stats. Yet another aspect is the multiple classes to choose from when starting a run. While the skills and stats function the same for each class, the monsters as cards have entirely different functions for each class. Then if that's not enough, each class has 10 difficulty levels, each making the game more challenging. Being early access, there are sometimes a few bugs. However, the developer is very responsive on discord, and with weekly updates the bugs are usually fixed quickly. It's a fun game now, and keeps getting more interesting with each update. I'd recommend this game without hesitation to any fan of the roguelike deckbuilding genre.
quite fun. you should try it
Fun game and worth the price tag. Not quite finished, but still feels very clean and well made, especially for a solo dev. The monster-to-card mechanic is neat. Since most cards can improve by obtaining another copy, it means fighting repeat monsters holds significant value. Also, each card is unique to each class, making each class truly a unique play style, even with the same deck and similar stats. Would love to see a progression system that carries over between runs and also a greater variety of classes. (Or maybe just a cheat mode so I can satisfy my need to max each stat in a single run?) I'm very much looking forward to any updates for this game.
It's a nice game for a solo developer. That's a shame there is no more updates.
Fun game and love Monster collecting and leveling mechanics. The art and interface feels nostalgic. feels like collecting yugioh cards as a kid again.

However, abandoned projects don't deserve positive ratings, especially when sold at a full price. Currently, the game does have content equal to an elaborate demo so those curios might wait for a discount. With the rating out of the way, let's dive into what works for the game and what doesn't. One thing I adored is that every battle ended with a level up - in addition to the usual card and gold rewards. That meant that you are always guaranteed getting stronger and the choice of stats, in theory, allows for different playstyles, although the system was not developed enough for that and characters end up having preferred stats. The card rewards are interesting as you acquire the monster you battled in their card form, and if you had a duplicate from before, you can merge them into a more powerful version. It's a missed opportunity that there is no preview of monsters you will battle to assist the deckbuilding, but together with the level ups, the card and gold rewards make each battle rewarding - something that most deckbuilders don't really do.. The overall combat flows well, deckbulding has decent foundations, passives (relics) can be upgraded and runs are under 1h. But because the game is unfinished the balance is not there with some skills are absolutely busted (like damage immunity for the first 3 turns). The enemy design is too simple and card, passives and enemy variety are all too low because there is not enough content. In addition there are only two characters so runs get repetitive even after a few runs. It's a shame that the developer abandoned the game, because they clearly had something cooking and had good understanding of the fundamentals. I hope in time the game will become free or heavily reduced in price, because selling it 15 EUR is simply wrong.
Favorite mechanics
• Passives (relics) can be upgraded
The positive
+ Upgrading cards by merging duplicates + Every battle feels rewarding due to level ups and rewards
The neutral
* The cards themselves could have been more interesting
The negative
- Abandoned project - Lack of content leads to repetitive runs due to low enemy and strategy variety - Lack of balance
Conclusion:
It's an abandoned game selling at full price that is, nonetheless, competent with some cool ideas (like upgradable relics) and a potential that will never realize. Not recommended, 6/10.
I am having a good time with it, though sometimes the difficulty can vary wildly from fight to fight. I would recommend to fans of the genre and the setting.
A very simplified and out-dated feeling Card battler, but something about that is also aesthetically pleasing. I don't think I will come back to it very much given on all the other amazing rogue-like card games out there, but I will be picking it up again when I just want something simple and relaxing.
Great game and innovative ideas. Sad but understandable that the dev felt he had to rush the full release. There is so much more potential. Try to get it on discount imo not worth it at full price. Still recommend it for the gameplay and ideas behind it.
