The year is 1973. The sound of a lone, ethereal saxophone drifts over the Roosevelt Island promenade, while a series of accidents plague a midtown construction site. The citizens of Manhattan take no notice of these events, let alone think they are connected.

The next game in the Blackwell series.
Didn't expect it to be a prequel though
It's got the same asthetics as the previous game, plus it lets you control the second character as well. The puzzles are minimal and you can finish the game in a very decent time. The voice acting and bonus content are good extras. The game felt a tad longer than the prevoius one which is good, but there was not much investigating per se comapred to the first one. It showcases Lauren's personality very well, in line with what was mentioned in the first game. - 7.5/10
Fun to play and solve the puzzles. The music and dialogue are fantastic also. And I like the banter between Joey and Lauren.
After finishing The Blackwell Legacy, I jumped straight into the sequel, Blackwell Unbound (2007), and it took me completely by surprise. Instead of continuing Rosa's story, this game acts as a prequel set in 1970s New York. You play as Rosa’s aunt, Lauren Blackwell—a cynical, chain-smoking medium—alongside a slightly younger (but equally sarcastic) Joey Mallone. The biggest and best upgrade here is the gameplay: you can finally switch between Lauren and Joey at will. This adds a great dynamic to the puzzles. Lauren handles the real-world interactions and takes notes, while Joey can float through doors, spy on people, and blow drafts of air to move objects. It actually makes you feel like a team. Lauren is a fantastic protagonist. Unlike the anxious and insecure Rosa, Lauren is detached, weary, and treats ghost-hunting like a grueling chore. Her chemistry with Joey is excellent—they feel like two old friends who tolerate each other's flaws over cigarettes and jazz music. The soundtrack is also a massive upgrade, featuring a beautiful, somber noir-jazz vibe that perfectly fits the late-night Manhattan setting. While the pixel art graphics felt slightly more basic than the first game, the story is much deeper. It ties into what we know happens to Lauren in the future, adding a tragic, eerie layer to the whole experience.
I've always like Point & Click adventures, and much like The Blackwell Legacy, this one is pretty good. The story is intriguing, if not a little predictable, but it's still enjoyable. The writing compared to Legacy has improved, it doesn't feel quite as thin, and there isn't so much of the instances were opinions are changed at the drop of a hat. The voice acting feels a bit more refined and cleaner than Legacy, so that's good. The music is still an issue. I mentioned this with Legacy too... there is no volume control for the music and at times it can be very loud and drown out the dialogue. Overall a great game, a bit short, much like Legacy at about 2-ish hours to complete, but still good.
Meh, 6/10.
I enjoyed this next chapter in the Blackwell series. I loved seeing the difference between lauren and Rosa’s from the first game, lauren is frustrated with her role of being a medium and how much it has taken over her life, or lack of one now, where this is simply who she is. She smokes, reflects, and dreams about what her life could and should be. Longing for connection with the living rather than the dead. I enjoyed each mini chapter, the characters were great, and the voice acting was excellent. The music is brilliant. The game has a really nice atmosphere, and I enjoyed the art style throughout. On to the next one I go, HiHo!
