Street psychics. Their blinking neon signs are everywhere, promising love and wealth and happiness. They make a fortune preying on the gullible and milking them dry. So when these victims begin dying and leaving confused spirits behind, it can only take a genuine psychic (and her wayward spirit guide) to clean up the mess.

The Blackwell Deception is one of those games that doesn’t rely on scale or spectacle to deliver a strong experience. Instead, it focuses on something much harder to get right: consistency, atmosphere, and character. By this point in the series, the dynamic between Rosa and Joey feels fully matured. The dialogue flows naturally, often carrying a subtle mix of humor and melancholy that defines the tone of the game. It’s not trying to impress with complexity — it just tells its story with confidence and clarity. The gameplay is classic point-and-click, but more refined than in the earlier entries. Puzzles feel more logical, less obscure, and better integrated into the narrative. There’s a clear sense that the design respects the player’s time, avoiding unnecessary friction. What stands out most is how grounded everything feels. The cases are smaller in scope, more personal, and that actually works in the game’s favor. Instead of dramatic twists, the impact comes from understanding the characters and their situations. Visually and technically, it remains simple, but that simplicity supports the storytelling rather than limiting it. The presentation is clean, the pacing is controlled, and nothing feels out of place. If you’ve played the previous Blackwell games, this is easily one of the strongest entries. If you haven’t, it still works — but it’s clearly part of a larger arc, and you’ll likely want to go through the whole series to fully appreciate it.
I've been playing all of these games around the same time and so far, they've mostly only gotten better with each entry. As usual, the art, atmosphere, and ost are all on point. Great stuff. I very much enjoyed the experience. The story in this one introduces more supernatural elements than previous games, in terms of danger, it certainly feels like the series is building up to something big in the fifth entry but I can't comment on if that's done well sense I've yet to play the last game in the series. I feel like some of the puzzles required more back and forth and attention to detail compared to the previous titles, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
another excellent entry with great soundtrack.
I've been taking my time with it and haven't finished but honestly enjoying it so much I gotta say thumbs-up!
Spooky
Amazing series, worth playing.
As good as previous ones, and maybe some aspects of the story are ever better.
Uma das melhores série de aponte e clique indies da atualidade. Nunca joguei nada ruim dessa produtora
Just completed the series and it was great - wonderful story, moving characters, humor and tragedy, and everything I want out of a detective noir game. I cannot recommend this series enough.
