game freezes at the redrot site and no help has been given in fixing this problem
As of right now, I'm saying no on this one. Got it during the turn-based sale just this past week, since I already owned the first game and had enjoyed it. This one, however.... It's a mess. Already I've run into two game breaking bugs. Had to restart the entire game once already, then after I got things going again, hit a second one. I'm playing to relax and avoid stress, haha, so yeah.... Deal breaker for me. Other players' experiences may vary. if you must purchase, get it on sale.
i think i would really love the game, i liked the first one. what i can get through so far i like. but i have tried everything that i can think of to figure out my issue. i cannot get past the monster in the hospital tunnels that has the "caveman's type" weapon. whenever he comes down from over the door, the game freezes and i cant go anywhere. i have uninstalled and reinstalled like 5 times and restarted the game. i even got rid of any of the files on my computer and nothing has worked. so i hate that i didnt get to actually play this game.

First game was fun; 2nd game was fun too, until I got to a point in time where the game froze during a mandatory scene. I restarted the entire game and it froze again in the same spot. Six months later, no response from the Dev and two more people with the same issue. Game was fun, but you shouldn't buy a broken game without any support.
While I enjoyed the story I simply can not recommend this game. Your final characters first spell costs more SP than she even starts with and the achievements? Being an achievement hunter and I killed all the bosses and shopped from jack several times but none other than killing the doctor ever unlocked. Then the part down in the monsters cave where the whole game freezes unless you do everything in a certain way. Buggy game. Thank god it was 90% percent off otherwise I would've felt totally scammed.
unfortunately, this game is very unbalanced. You need to pray not to get poisoned at the very beginning of the gamem because yes, you do not have the means to heal yourself. And it's not like in most rpgs where you simply stay poisoned at 1 hp untill you find some way to cure yourself. No. You just die. at 5 mins playtime.
I like the game but i am stuck, can not find the signet ring?
I actually enjoyed playing Black Home 1, even with some of the bugs that others have encountered. Unfortunately, the bugs in this game render it unplayable. I gave it 4 hours, but after failing to find a walkthrough (I could not get past Level 3 of the prison to find the guaze), and dying constantly because of lack of healing items (including no antidotes when all enemies cast poison), healing spots, and ways to replenish MP, I'm finally giving up. There's plenty more games in my backlog to play that aren't broken like this. It's sad, because I was enjoying the story.
RPG Maker strikes again! Black Home 2 is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This is another RPG Maker asset flip/cash grab from Andorlea/Warfare/SimProse/Valkyria. It's important to note that this guy has rushed over OVER ONE HUNDRED of these RPG Maker asset flips onto Steam, now. This isn't sincere, genuine game development. This is a cash grab scheme. While it's refreshing to see they've dropped on a Victorian theme instead of the generic anime fantasy theme they usually dump on, and even a couple of custom assets to go with the Kodakowa RPG Maker assets they claim as their own, it's horribly basic, no side quests, just a linear slog. And as usual the writing is terrible, too. Notably this asset flip is completely riddled with bugs, more than usual for Warfare, so they really phoned this one in. Some of the bugs render the game impossible to complete. The shovelware never ends with these guys, and neither does the mediocrity. This has all the same hallmarks as all their other asset flips, regardless of which fake/shell accounts they use to try hide their identity. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Black Home 2 has the insane price of around $8 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product. Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger.
