A nice little game that shows 9 moments of the eponymous character's life that lead to the disastrous end as the title illustrates. At first, I felt sorry for little Erin Myers. A 10 years old girl is made to wash the dirt left by the drunkard father. But then, in her adult life, I started to lean on the opposite. Erin has become the very thing she has despised in her father. Years or moments later, she kills off her own father just to take revenge... But is that person her real father? PROS: - Condensed story; - Fragmented plot; - Scenes give off a sense of reality; - Music fits the scene; - Instructions before actually playing; - Mixed feelings for the eponymous character; - Simple game mechanics of puzzles and mixed inventory items. CONS: - Overt vulgar language (Best to place at least a warning for kids); - That's kind of all. In conclusion, if you'd love a shot mystery fragmented story with a troubled character, I'd advise you to try out this game.
Well somehow I beat this game without a guide in just over an hour, with some of the most illogical puzzles ever made! Example: You have a pencil and a pencil sharpener in your inventory. Can you combine them? Of course not. First you need to stick a double sided sticky fly paper on a desk, and then set the sharper on it so it is steady and doesn't move, then you can insert the pencil! Argggg! + The game is cheap at around $1 to $2 + The music in the game is beautiful and really sets the whole mood of the game + The story is interesting, keeps your interest, and the ending is completely unexpected. The ending goes somewhere where most video games don't go + The simple graphics have a certain charm and aesthetic that I liked - The puzzles are ridiculous, I mean completely over the top ridiculous. However they are somewhat easy to solve because the game world is small and there are not too many places to interact with. Remember to combine everything! 7 / 10
Elbow Mac does not understand why she isn't liked and why her coworkers hate her after she shoots an innocent man, poisons a prisoner's drink in order to steal a coworkers lunchbox, and plants a bug to listen in on said coworkers complaining about her. Ankle Miles and the case of the very dull pencil.
not bad point and click game and cheap.
I really enjoyed this game. I found the plot excellent, and sound effects were perfect to convey a very creepy atmosphere to the game. I admit the progress is mostly straightforward and the game can easily be completed in one setting (about 1 hour long) but the thrilling plot and discovering what happened to Erin really kept me hooked. I hope the devs will make more games like this one. I definitely recommend.
First of all I want to mention that I only recommend The Death of Erin Myers because of it's really cheap pricetag. It's base price at the moment is 1,59€ but I bought it even cheaper during the winter sale so I really can't complain regarding that. The game itself however is unfortunately kind of mediocre in all of its aspects. I get what they tried to do with the story-telling, but it wasn't executed very well and turned out to be a confusing mess. The puzzles are quite easy too which was a letdown. It pains me to see such wasted potential every time, but if you have an hour to spare and you want to play a detective/murder-mystery adventure game it's better than nothing.
It's okay for a buck, but the story is very short and doesn't make much sense. The puzzles are easy too. Feels a bit underdeveloped to be honest, but at least it has nice art and a cold mysterious detective-like atmosphere.
Small puzzle game with good story behind, but a bit messed up end in my opinion. I liked the story: it is not linear and you get it like pieces of puzzle too. Yes, there is puzzle hunting, not the most modern graphic at all but it does not matter for me of I get a good story. So from my side and for this price I would surely recommend the game
I found this game to be extremely underwhelming in every way. Everything just feels pointless. You pick up a bunch of random objects that seem out of place, then you try to figure out how they work together and with the environment while completing mundane tasks. Rinse and repeat throughout the entire game. You don't even realize why you're doing what you're doing half the time, but you do it anyway. On top of that, a lot of the dialogue is awkward and useless and the game is just really uninteresting overall. I reached the end credits and felt nothing. Even though it's very short, I don't think it's worth anybody's time. You'll get nothing from this game. It was a completely forgettable experience.
