BioShock™

Best game in my book. The gameplay, concept, story, art, music, and its message. Almost every game lacks something but this game is just perfect. (except some technical issues) Would you kindly give this game a try?

The game worked fine (occasional crashes but restarting the game resolved them) until I got to Fort Frolic. Once I got to taking elevator to Sander Cohen, I attempted to save the game which resulted in a game crash. Since then the game started to crash after only a few seconds of playing it (just moving around or traveling to a different map or using any vending machine or saving game or loading game - absolutely anything can crash the game now). Even the old saved games started to crash. Many many many attempts to resolve it produced no solution or even progress toward solution. Horrible... UPDATE: installed Windows updates, upgraded GPU drivers, rebooted, stopped saving the game in the open areas of Fort Frolic (where the light shines from above). The game still crashes every 2-3 minutes, but at least one can make some progress.

"Por onde começar? É um jogo muito bom, com uma história fascinante, jogabilidade muito boa e uma ambientação fenomenal. Um jogo leve para qualquer PC. História: É muito boa e inovadora, por trazer uma corrente filosófica diferente que raramente foi vista em outras mídias, criticando uma cosmovisão materialista e egoísta. Para quem gosta de distopias como A Revolução dos Bichos ou Admirável Mundo Novo, vai gostar muito. Sem falar que esses livros focam muitas vezes em aspectos puramente econômicos ou políticos. BioShock leva isso para a ética, metafísica e moral, fazendo com que tenha uma profundidade muito grande. Mas, tirando isso, em sua estrutura ele é uma distopia clássica, porém com elementos diferentes que o tornam único. Jogabilidade: É muito divertida. A junção dos Plasmídeos me divertiu muito, queimando ou eletrocutando os inimigos. Sem falar que ele possui uma variedade muito grande de armas, desde espingarda até lança-chamas. Mas já digo que, se você é uma pessoa procurando somente se divertir atirando, BioShock não é para você. O foco dele é mais a história e os puzzles; o FPS é mais um fundo do que algo central, mas é aquele fundo divertido. Sem falar dos hacks que você pode fazer nas máquinas, o que ajuda bastante na jogatina. Gráficos: Eu particularmente gosto do clássico. O Remaster é bonito, mas, na minha opinião, o clássico tem um charme próprio e, como eu não ligo muito para conquistas, o clássico funciona bem para mim. O gráfico funciona muito bem em 2026: é dark, sombrio e opressor, combinando muito com a atmosfera de Rapture. Atmosfera: É perfeita. Sua estética sombria, escura e com cores frias dá muito medo, tensão e calafrios. O jogo dá medo em alguns momentos, mas também uma sensação gostosa quando você anda pelos corredores. Para uma cidade no fundo do mar, ela realmente entrega o que propõe. Os sons de animais marinhos, dos inimigos e dos Big Daddies são realmente assustadores, misturados com o ambiente atmosférico. Trilha sonora: É muito boa. Ela combina com a estética Art Déco do ambiente. A mistura de música clássica dentro do ambiente do game com a trilha externa é muito boa. Ela é tensa e realmente, em alguns momentos, causa arrepios. Vale a pena? Se você gosta de história, ambientação e um FPS moderado, claro. Mas, se você quer algo dinâmico e com FPS intenso, talvez não. Como experiência, ele é único e vai fazer você ter uma visão diferente das distopias, além de abrir seu horizonte para novas formas de opressão em sociedades perfeitas. 9/10

A true masterpiece with minor age related issues and some difficulty scaling issues. This is a review of the Remastered version of the game, since I only played that. It is a sometimes scary, story-rich shooter with looting, researching and plenty of fun enemies to kill that also incorporates "magic" through the plasmid system. If that at all speaks to you, this game is a must play! [hr][/hr] [h2]The Good:[/h2] Amazing story telling! I really got engaged with the entire story and started caring for the entire place and characters! Fun mechanics around interesting weapons and plasmids that spice up the combat and puzzles in the game! [hr][/hr] [h2]The Bad:[/h2] Sometimes the Audio glitches out and an old audio log is played instead of a radio message that is automatically played when you do something in the game. Dated graphics and some slight visual glitches around fullscreen mode. I played on the highest difficulty rating and in the beginning it was very hard to kill the Big Daddies, but progressively with all the research, plasmids and tonics the difficulty became lower and lower. I swam in resources and money and often times didnt know what to do with them anymore. Id have liked it if players that are hunting for every secret dont have to have the feeling like they are wasting resources constantly by not being able to take them with you. The boss fight in the end was sadly trivial, in the beginning a single Big daddy was harder than it. This game is SOOOOO GOOOOOODUHHHHHH. For how old this game is, It's timeless. I've played through this game atleast 5 times by now, the art work, the story, the atmosphere, It's all SO insanely cool, I can truly say there is NO other game like this that I've ever seen before. This is just a masterpiece all together. 1,000,000% recommended!!

BioShock — это вообще одна из тех игр, после которых понимаешь, что шутеры могут быть не просто про стрельбу, а про атмосферу, стиль и реально мощную историю: Восторг выглядит настолько красиво и жутко одновременно, что хочется рассматривать каждый угол, даже когда вокруг творится полный ♥♥♥♥♥♥, а плазмиды, Большие Папочки и вся эта мрачная философия делают игру не просто интересной, а реально запоминающейся. В итоге BioShock ощущается как очень стильное, умное и местами жёсткое приключение, которое не только развлекает, но и оставляет после себя то самое чувство: “блин, вот это была реально сильная штука”.
