Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition

This game is very enjoyable for what it is and perfectly optimized. But for a game this short, with no replay value and that requires Ubislop Connect this isn't worth 16$ Get the original instead or obtain through unethical means.

I’m not judging the actual quality of the game, but rather the technical execution of this version. The graphics are supposedly better, but to me everything somehow looks far too much like plastic figures, though that is very subjective. On the other hand, the game crashes more often, there is a 60 fps cap, keyboard inputs somehow aren’t registered properly, and so on. Conclusion: A good game, just like back then — but a poor remaster.

There's potential, but between some awful camera "immovable" angles, controls that haven't aged well, and some infuriating design (instadeath forced stealth sections, anyone?), I can't recommend it

Good Old Classic - Ahead of its time

I did not played it before so I do not have any nostalgia feelings towards it. What can I say - its an old game and it defently feels like one: - one button fighting system - extremly boring - sometimes you just do not know what to do and the solution which would allow you to proceed in the story is completly unlogical and you cannot find it without a walkthrough (e.g. You need a special upgrad to get into the factory - no hint about it whatsover) - no steam saves - if you want to continue playing somewhere else you need to go to the menu and save it in a special online save Additionaly you need to install ubisoft connect - no idea why Without nostalgia feelings - feels like complete garbage to me. If you die not played this game back then - do not buy it - you will regret it

Awsome

Beyond Good & Evil reminded me just how good Ubisoft used to be at their peak. This is exactly the kind of remaster I was hoping for. It keeps the charm of the original PS2 classic while cleaning it up enough that it feels comfortable to play on modern hardware. The visual touch-ups are nice, performance is solid, and it's a genuinely good port that respects the source material without trying to reinvent it. Going back through Hillys was a great trip down memory lane. The mix of exploration, stealth, photography, puzzle solving, and action still feels surprisingly unique even today. Jade remains a fantastic protagonist, the soundtrack is memorable, and the world has a level of personality that made me remember why this game became such a cult classic. Sure, some mechanics definitely show their age, and it's not a perfect game by modern standards, but that's easy to overlook when the adventure itself is so enjoyable. It's also a reminder of an era when Ubisoft consistently put out creative, original games instead of chasing trends. Replaying this made me miss that version of the company. 8/10 (Great)

juego good recorde mi infancia

First played this on my PS2 when i was 11 now playing it almost 13 years later brought so many memories for me. Story-rich game, ahead of its time. Also the HD version of this game just enhances the beautiful details of the Hillys. Hidden gem.

Im not having any connection issues with Ubisoft at all. No performance issues, no lagg, no stutters (maybe lower your resolutions a bit?) Its working like a charm and im enjoying the game as i was enjoying it on the gamecube when it first came out. Just two giggling elementairy kids who where engrossed into the old school games of those times. Pure nostalgia as it was meant to be experienced with a controller. Thank you triggering and reliving those memories again with the 20th Anniversary Edition.
