Beyond Divinity....
This game is the least enjoyable in the Divinity series. It has the most bugs and issues, the worst story arc and the worst gameplay mechanics. If you are truly a fan and want to experience the full story, play it. If not - skip it.
The good things from the prior game don't exist here. Go back to IRL instead.
just another larian disaster of a game.. where the devs want you to play their game THEIR way.. instead of just allowing you to enjoy a game.. they MANDATE you find every little thing and replay it again and again until you get your character into the ONLY mold that will work.. warrior for knight and wizard + fire for protagonist (with maxed int).. I could not get anything else to work.. which is PATHETIC! fergus regens all the time and you have no chance without the burst damage.. can NOT recommend this pathetic game.. let alone the fact that its old and the graphics poor.. and the game play is some of the worst I've ever had to endure.. and and and... horrid horrid game but the final nail was the fact that they REQUIRE you to take a seemingly unimportant item lying about in a room, all the way through multiple levels in order to complete a chapter is beyond idioacy! I can NOT stress this enough.. these devs are MORONS!
This game is for intellectuals ONLY
Hit a point in the second act where my game would crash within 3 minutes of launching no matter what i did
Unfortunately I'm going to have to keep my experience of this game to a 2nd hand viewing rather than trying to play it myself. Game has a bug that will crash if you try to move while encumbered, and the mechanics are a clear downgrade from Divine Divinity.
Back in the 2000s played a lot of divine divinity and later divinity 2 and that was the series to me. Makes sense right? Two games - one of them called divinity 2 (though the naming scheme is still messy) Well later i found out about beyond divinity and after replaying divine divinity recently i finally installed this game. I have always prefered divine divinity over ego draconis so this was kind of a treat. I mean yes it is deeply flawed. While the opening is intriguing as soon as i heard the death knghts voice acing i knew i would've preferred this was not their first fully voice acted game. The sad thing is it didn't have to be like this - apparently in the demo the death knight had a different actor. and its just unfortunate... In the very end of the game there actually is a sequence where the far superior more mellow performance was left in probably because the new VA never recorded those lines - theres a few other lines missing towards the end as well. I mean some of the voice acting is great tho. I enjoyed a lot of the imps in particular. The main gimmick of this game is that your character and the goofy screaming death knight are linked and if one dies - BOTH DIE and i mean its not as terrible as i thought it was going to be. But its not really an improvement either. It does serve the narrative though and it is an interesting spin so... idk im kind of glad they tried it. The other big improvement over the predecessor is they have now fully 3d models and eh idc about it if anything it looks a bit worse. And yes the color pallet is more grey and brown and people think its samey but I really enjoyed the locations. Way more interesting than the ones in DD. i mean the imp village was just amazing! And yes the game is way more linear but the story is so much better. Maybe i just enjoy getting to see the villains but i still played the goody two shoes paladin :P The books were a bit of a let down tho tbh. Really enjoyd them in DD here they were a lot of *the book describes this and that* not actual text so yeah... some were good tho and it is interesting lore fs. And the music may be even better than the first game i mean damn its all so good. And yeah the battlefields are a bit repetitive bloat but i enjoyed a bit of a roguelike element. The game is buggy and if im being honest it is just a bit unfinished. And i know it sounds like im hating on it a lot - and i havent even gotten into THE WORST SKILL SYSTEM I'VE EVER HAD TO INTERACT WITH but it was a neat idea to craft your own skills i guess. Its a good game seriously. Like I probably wouldnt recommend it to most people but if youre like me really into divine divinity this is basically more of that with some experiments and a better more linear story.
Beyond Mediocrity
Talvez fosse apenas a primeira dungeon, a primeira área, o primeiro ato. Eventualmente, a ficha caiu.
