Between is a first-person puzzle game that takes you on an extraordinary adventure in the world of dreams. You play as Elures, a woman who wakes up with amnesia and finds herself trapped in a labyrinth of her own subconscious. With the help of a mysterious companion, you have to solve various puzzles and uncover the secrets of your past. The game is developed by Artesign, an independent developer from Russia. Between is clearly inspired by games like Portal, The Stanley Parable, and Myst, but it also has its own identity and charm. The game has a well-translated text and a scattered yet intriguing plot that keeps you guessing until the end. The game also has some references and Easter eggs to other games and media that add to the fun and immersion. The game’s strongest point is its puzzles. They are creative, varied, and challenging, ranging from logic and physics to memory and perception. Some puzzles require you to manipulate time, launch a nuclear reactor, or play against a sleep paralysis demon. The puzzles are not linear and can be solved in any order, which gives you a sense of freedom and exploration. The game also has some mini-games that add to the diversity and humor of the game. Between’s weakest point is its technical performance. It has some issues with motion blur, camera movement, and chunky rendering that can cause motion sickness or frustration. There are also some problems with in-game interactions that require being very close to the objects or are hard to find. The game also has a small lack of guidance that can make some puzzles confusing or lead to dead ends. It also includes some physics glitches with chairs that can clip through walls, block doorways, or get underneath the player. The Verdict Between is a game that offers a unique and interactive storytelling with an atmosphere of mystery and unpredictability. It is a game that will appeal to fans of puzzle games and surreal adventures. Though it has some flaws but also a lot of potential. It is a game that deserves your attention and support. I played this for a short while. The controls are horrible. The inventory management is bizarre. You can stick your hand right through the object you are trying to manipulate. It took me a lot of tries to get a key in a door because of this. The native language appears to be Russian, which all the spoken dialogue is in. The subtitles look like a reasonable translation, but I can't watch foreign language films with subtitles as I get some sort of dissonance, so this game is a big no.
Amazing game with greats puzzles.
One thing I must say: extremely long loads. Loading in the game - 4 minutes, loading after intro (store) - 7 minutes with abandon. May be even longer, I forcefully close game. Complete unplayable. May be problems by my side, But It's first time I ever seen this weird performance
Between was a game that had some interesting mechanics but wasn't quite as fleshed as it could be. Pros: Decent array of puzzles the movement feature thing is neat Its voice acted Cons: Way too many familiar unity assets Underutilized what made it unique Felt a little unfinished In the end, it's not the worst game but it could definitely be better. I give it 4/10 Inventory slots.
Between is a fun puzzle game with a collection of good puzzles. The environments are diverse. The game first takes place in a forest area with a house, but later on the game progresses to a subterranean environment with large machines that you have to operate. What I enjoyed most was setting up all the components to activate the reactor. There are good puzzles in the subterranean environment as well as above the ground. The developer of this game is active in the steam forums, he's responding to feedback from the players and making adjustments to the game if needed. The game runs well and I encountered no bugs. I love puzzle games and I'm glad I found this game, escepcially because it is not well known.
Хорошая игра,отличная графика, интересные головоломки,звук тоже отличный.
Душно и забагано
Despite some jank and confusing controllers at time, this was worth a play. It's probably not everyone's jam, but I enjoyed exploring the world and searching for all the small secrets and easter eggs. Looking forward to the sequel?
