Nice game, beautiful graphics, cool story
Nope. 1978, and there's car alarms. Game would be...ok if it were made in 1995.
If i install the game on a desktop computer i can see all the languages, but if i install it on a steam deck i can't unfortunately. Why can't i see all the languages? Developers? Is it not the same game that is installed on the deck or what could be causing this? There are a total of 7-8 languages to choose from on deck. Thx.
just finished the game, great story with interesting unique characters , each and every one of them, the dialouge portraits remind me of those retro models from Fallout 1 and 2 and startcraft , trippy ending too XD

A fascinating world and story to explore. Utterly gorgeous art work and a very unique experience. You can tell this was a work of love. Nice one devs. Recommended
Wow!!! This game really lives up to its name!! What a stunningly beautiful game. FOKKEN BEAUTIFUL A very straightforward point and click in terms of gameplay. No big surprises, no big new mechanics. But boy what a journey. Incredible environment. Wonderful cast of characters. Amazing voice acting all around. And the atmosphere was amazing. My only criticism is it's lacking a lot of the QoL features of modern PnC games, it's often hard to figure out where to go next as the game open up, and you have to go over previous conversations to remind yourself of where people told you to go. Some of the puzzles are very obtuse, and I ended up finishing the game with a walkthrough, which is never a great thing. But it was worth it, because I was really there for the story. This game definitely takes a lot of inspiration from STASIS, and that's a good thing. But with the unique South African flair it was a truly unique experience. Highly recommend this for a good tale on a lazy sunday afternoon.
Beautiful Desolation clearly shares DNA with the developer’s earlier games, but the larger, more open world makes puzzles feel more obscure and some critical items had no clear clue to their location. At times the game becomes a fetch quest across a very large map. The art, voices, and characters are excellent, but spread thinly. I enjoyed it, though the Stasis games remain much stronger.
All I can say about this game is "different"! A different CRPG. Playable but you must be a little patient...
As a big fan of the previous games (Stasis and Stasis: Bone Totem), I knew the studio was South African, but the distinct flavour of this game was an unexpected delight. While the puzzles aren't the most challenging, for a narrative game such as this I honestly prefer the steady progression via storytelling over obscure hidden logic.
