The World After

While the backgrounds are great and the acting is fine, the actual game itself falls short of its potential. The point and click puzzles are entirely unrelated to the plot and often nonsensical. The sci-fi elements in the game COULD be used well in a point and click game to make puzzles more interesting and flesh out the world, but they're sorely underutilized. Using them is less of a logical step you realize you must take to solve a puzzle and more of something you just resort to. All of this would be halfway acceptable if the plot was entertaining, but there's hardly any plot at all. The collectible video logs are about the only thing to reference the plot and even then, they're more elements of a plot than an actual cohesive story. I regret having paid around $13 for this. For as little as the game offers, I wouldn't want to pay more than $3 for this.

Short point-and-click full-motion-video (FMV) adventure, not an interactive film with binary choices like the Wales Interactive products. Quality video footage well shot. Nice environments in countryside France. The plot was somewhat interesting but awkwardly told in part by scanning QR codes (in game) and watching around ten 1-2 minute video logs, especially with the fat actor hamming it up. I didn't know how to proceed in the castle because I missed a place I was supposed to go in. Objects were sometimes "hidden" in the background. A hotspot indicator would have been very convenient. I was annoyed by items that could only be picked up after a certain event, not right away. The last puzzle didn't make sense. In such a short game (1 to 1.5 hours) with such easy puzzles, it's not normal I had to check a guide three times. Nice bonus in the form of a Japanese-style visual novel of basically the same game if you get the "good" ending. Better to play in the original French language, although the English dubbing for the main character was very good. Not so good for the others but acceptable.

I knew beforehand it wasn't going to be a long game, looking at the other reviews. But if you skip the conversations (you need to replay the game a few times if you want all achievements, like good ending, bad ending etc) then you can finish the game within 15 minutes! And there are only 3 other characters in the whole city, that was certainly not what i was expecting, the 3-4 hours people have in it, are people that done all achievements. The puzzles aren't difficult, you will never have more then 5 items in your hands, there is a retro mode and visual novel mode, that add to the game, and i do see the work (and love) done into it, but personally it's not worth 12 euro, for basically what you can finish in 15 minutes, get this on a sale and you will have an okay time. It's a mixed review, i barely give this a 6/10, almost lower because of the price, but i still would want to recommend it as a motivation that they make more fmv games, but longer, only therefor a thumbs up.

指向点击解谜与FMV相结合的甜品，上次玩到还是数年前的The Dark Side of the Moon了。以新冠疫情全球封控时期为背景，挖掘潜藏在法式乡村背后的超自然谜团。台词对话保留了一定风趣幽默的特色，整体做工廉价、演技道具粗糙、解谜跑图卡关，不过这些不足基本都能被恬静宜人的乡野风光消解，外星生物亮起红眼掐脖子真有那么点cult味。其中白天黑夜切换的玩法有点意思，想起另一部作品Broken Pieces的季节切换了（奇怪怎么又是法国的）。 一周目通关其实很难看懂这剧情到底在说什么，大量信息分布在碎片化谜语人的收集内。你只会看到一个落魄作家为取材四处游走，莫名其妙触发一系列超自然（科幻）事件又莫名其妙通关的故事。你得打出真结局把视频日志全收集，然后连续播放一遍才能猜出大意：[spoiler]现实世界已经在由疫情引发的国际争端中被摧毁，以男主为首的科研团队创造了史上首例可上传意识并切实运行的虚拟世界系统。团队将背景设定在疫情刚发生时，以期待能探索出人类面对重大灾害时的其他可能性出路，思索数据化是否为比肉体更加优越的存在形式，即进化。男主以身试局进入虚拟是为了测试系统性能，最终在结局处恢复记忆，整个游戏流程都是在虚拟空间内进行的。[/spoiler]老实说这个反转挺俗套的，我觉得还不如早期一些细节有内涵：比如，乡下人非常惧怕巴黎人把病毒带来而闭门不出，这和当年国内一些痛斥返乡的标语是否有异曲同工之妙呢，再比如讽刺了一些大型制药公司拿疫情谋利润的现实。 总的来说，糙归糙，但糙得别有一番风味，类型也是罕见到值得收藏了。

"The world after" est un FMV français se passant lors d'un confinement dépendant d'une pandémie (ça vous rappelle quelque chose) en jouant sur une once de surnaturel. A part la présence performante de l'acteur Jean-Claude Dreyfus et des prises de vues correctes, le scénario se révèle quelque peu plat et bêta, les énigmes dignes d'un enfant de 10 ans, quant aux fins diverses, vous tombez sur les mauvaises et non la soi-disant "bonne" parce que vous avez pris un objet auparavant. En conclusion, un jeu décevant !!!

Great game until alll that work is proved to be JUST a nightmare very disappointing

Il est tout juste assez long pour ne pas pouvoir se faire rembourser. Le scénario est sympa, mais reste très basique. On peut saluer le travail des créateurs, la qualité des vidéos, mais sinon, c'est bien trop court, et bien trop nul. J'aurais du regarder les walktrought avant de jouer, je ne l'aurais pas acheté.

Alors que je ne connaissais rien à la FMV avant de mettre la main sur ce jeu, j'ai été conquis par cette expérience. Je la recommande chaudement et attends avec intérêt le prochain projet du studio.

Un jeu hyper sympa! Totalement hors du commun je n'avais jamais joué à un truc de ce style...! On y revit le confinement de manière totalement décalée... Les dialogues sont funs les perso aussi, et l'intrigue marche super bien, bravo...!
