While it has some great presentation, art, UI for uploading your own characters built-in, and fantastic voice acting... I dunno, I suppose it's not really what I was expecting? It's disappointing. Foremost, BBY DON'T HURT ME is not a desktop companion. The desktop mode is just the character repeating one of their very few lines every 15 seconds or so while annoying icons appear for you to click to either raise or lower an "affection" meter. This is exactly the same for the fullscreen mode, too; there isn't really a difference. There is no functionality to the "companion" at all. The "anti-dating" part is also extremely basic. Watching the trailer, you might expect there to be a VN story of some kind, but there isn't much of anything in that regard. There's a "love" and "toast" ending for each character, based entirely on clicking the right icons popping up on your screen to either fill or empty the affection meter, respectively. This results in a simple graphic and a forgettable resolution to your "interrogation" with that character. All there is to understand about the story is the 'premise' blurb on the store page, and the few lines in those resolutions. Speaking of dialogue: There's nowhere near enough lines for any character. They very, very quickly run out of new things to say and start repeating themselves, and the content of those lines isn't redeeming. The VA's delivery is pretty good! But there isn't much substance to what they say, and is kinda just nasty. Like yeah, they're supposed to be bullying you--and maybe it's on me for expecting something more erotically-charged--but this ain't it. "Scars on your wrists? Try fighting a real battle." like whaAT??? That's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WILD thing to hear when I'm hoping the hot buff wolf man will call me his pathetic pup. These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are just mean with zero eroticism.
I expected a kink-heavy game with REAL humiliation. Since it's a desktop assistant, it should have made using the PC delightfully frustrating, but it failed. There is zero NSFW content, and the experience boils down to silly minigames. I didn't see any actual humiliation elements—if that type of content exists, I couldn't find it. The game sells itself as a masochistic experience but delivers none of it. Personally, just random insults thrown into the dialogue don't work for me. Please make it more NSFW and intense in future updates. I think the game has potential
Just don't even bother to buy this. The art is great, but apart from that? There is literally next to nothing to do. And all what the devs are doing is just sad. Not adding any more content, but just polishing what's already in the game (Which is like 1 hour of gameplay max) and adding more music tracks to listen to. The best way i would describe this game is that it's just an Over the top ipod😭
I'll be honest, this game is nowhere near what was promised and still doesn't have promised features despite allegedly overshooting funding goals. Now the dev has announced a 3D stealth action game on top of this? At best, they're incredibly ambitious. BDHM has had an immense amount of time in the oven for what appeared to be a reasonable scope and it has yet to materialize most of it. There's STILL no NSFW components, the dialogue is still repetitive, there's only a handful of minigames, and it's not responsive at all to what's going on in your desktop. There's some generic insults a Live2D character spouts and some neat songs but it's not worth the asking price and I'm not confident it will ever reach its potential as a hard-BDSM anti-dating experience as advertised.
This game has 2 types of potential: 1. Absolutely so fire it burns 2. Getting so pissed off you refund
no, trust. cool drawings but waste of money, you cant do anything
I'd like my review to be positive, but that would be simply lying to myself... So I'll start from the beginning. After reading the description of what this game is about and watching both trailers and the screenshots, I didn't understand anything. The trailer says it's "The furry desktop companion" but I don't see that anywhere. I played for almost an hour and kept having the same feeling "What am I doing here? What's going on?" The whole game feels like one small bundle of mini-games. The character keeps repeating the same lines over and over because there aren't many of them, and you keep wondering what else you can do, only to quickly realize that there really isn't much you can do. Each character has their own mini-game, which will probably get boring after a short while. This only reinforces the feeling that nothing here really fits together. It feels like someone wanted to make a game but didn't really know what they wanted it to be, so random ideas were thrown in whenever someone came up with something. The optimization is strangely inconsistent. Even though I meet all the requirements except for Windows 11, the game can suffer from serious FPS drops. This mainly affects certain mini-games, like from Zoe's DLC mini-game, as well as the main menu, where the FPS drops are the worst. I tested both game modes, and in both cases the game fails to maintain a stable 60 FPS in some mini-games and in the main menu. There's also one more thing that really bothers me, the Zoe's DLC contains NSFW content, but the base game itself does not. I don't understand the decision to do a collaboration with a game that is built around NSFW content while completely dropping NSFW elements in your game, so the only NSFW content ends up being in Zoe's DLC. I know the developers have a good relationship with the creators of Beat Banger, but it's still a strange move. Anyway, I'll stop complaining and move on to what I liked. I like the music, it's fine, even good. There are a few tracks that caught my attention, but I hope there will be more of them and that they'll be a bit more energetic. I also liked the visual style, it strongly resembles Beat Banger, which I'm a fan of. As for the characters, I like their designs, but it would be nice if they were more diverse. They're all muscular, which makes them blend together a bit and gives the impression that they're too similar to one another. Finally, I'd like to apologize for being so negative. I don't want to offend anyone, I just want the game to find its footing and finally choose a clear direction instead of wandering blindly through a maze. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this project and hope it turns into something really good. For now, I can only recommend this game to people who are genuinely curious about it, and even then, it's better to buy it on sale.
Just started playing this and holy ♥♥♥♥ I am incredibly down bad. I don't need to get much further into this with how blushy the shark lady makes me. Update 2026-07-04: Gallons. Actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gallons. No god can save me now.
xD def not what i was expecting but I love the art style and characters in the game!!
