//The tower will inevitably fall. Under your command, it will rise even stronger. Fortify your tower with weapons and upgrades.
//Research new and increasingly powerful tech.
//Defend the Bastion until the end. You and your weapons research program are the last line of defense against the machine army. There's no telling if this reckless operation will allow Humanity to survive. What will happen when the horde becomes insurmountable?

love it
BastionOS is a love letter to cassette futurism, cold-war era interfaces, and the kind of no nonsense 1980s military sci-fi that once adorned our favourite action-hero-laden blockbusters and paranoia-induced Red Scare nightmares. BastionOS immediately won me over with its incredible 80s-inspired computer aesthetic, immersive interface, and habit-forming-gameplay loop. The interface feels like something pulled straight from a forgotten VHS-era vision of the future—chunky displays, glowing readouts, and synthesized voices. It perfectly captures that strange retro-futuristic feeling when you're watching/reading/playing which imagines a distant future from the lens of the not-so-recent-past. The synth-heavy soundtrack deserves special mention. It doesn't just accompany the gameplay; it heightens the immersion AND the nostalgia (for those of us actually old enough to remember the era). The music is dripping with nostalgia, evoking subterranean tech bunkers, miles of magnetic tape, and the hopeful (and unfulfilled) promises of a bygone era. On paper, BastionOS is an idler. And technically, that IS what it is. But it frequently feels like something more engaging than typical entries within the genre. The progression, resource management, and constant tinkering create moments that feel surprisingly close to playing a low-stakes RTS or tower defense game. It’s not reinventing the genre, but it understands something many incremental games miss: the joy is not just in watching numbers go up. The joy is in feeling like your meandering managerial choices actually matter. A wonderfully strange little experience that proves even an idler can have personality, atmosphere, and a world worth getting lost in. I purchased BastionOS with a myriad of other games but never did I expect that it would become my favourite one of the lot...and yet.

Was pretty satisfying for letting my brain wander.
Amazing game for the price. Tons of upgrades, well balanced stages, well fleshed out mechanics. Highly recommend.
4-5 hours of farming, but not bad. The weapon upgrades are pretty unique. A decent game at any indie price, but a fantastic game while on sale for ~$2.50. 4/5 - Definite buy if you enjoy these types of games.
Definitely one of the better incremental games I've played. One thing that immediately stood out to me was the destructible environments. Sure, they're nothing revolutionary, but they give the game a level of polish that feels surprisingly rare for the genre. I'm also surprised by the price. Honestly, I think they could have charged 50% more and I still wouldn't have regretted buying it. Progression is consistently satisfying, with plenty of meaningful upgrades and almost always something new to unlock. It strikes a decent balance too, never becoming excessively grindy. That said, progression can slow down quite a bit if you buy skills in the wrong order. There were a couple of points where I felt I'd accidentally backed myself into an inefficient build. Collecting resources while trying to aim can also be a little awkward. I think some stronger auto collection upgrades could have been introduced a bit earlier to smooth things out. I did have to replay a few earlier levels to mop up the achievements, but I'm not going to hold that against it. Overall, it's a genuinely fun incremental game and a great way to kill a few hours.
Very funny. No p2w. Very intuitive UI and math.
