In this city-building strategy game, you control a group of exiled travelers who decide to restart their lives in a new land. They have only the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies from their homeland. The townspeople of Banished are your primary resource.

great game wish there where updates.
I like the graphics and flow of the game just wish there was a way to enlarge the font/text on the game. I play it on a 65" TV, so I have plenty of viewable area yet there's no way to make the font size any larger than what it originally was. Ironically if I were on my original monitor I could read it alright... but then I would also be within feet of the monitor versus 6-9 feet back from the TV

Играл в Banished 10 лет назад. Решил вспомнить и купить в стиме. Увидел что есть мастерская и подумал попробовать поиграть с модами. Хотел поиграть немного и вспомнить, но чот меня унесло....
I started a town 6 times and the people died out from under me to the point where the society stalled. They died of freezing in the summer. They died of starvation while harvesting full fields of food. All efforts to feed the little bas**rds had no effect. It's a fun concept and I was engaged, but I ground down to the easiest level, best weather, and no disasters, and still had societal collapse. I have more important things to fail at.
Being a fan of the genre I didn't watch reviews and bought the game for the score. It's a respectable idea made for a specific kind of players that look at the age of the citizens inside each home to underestand if it is the time to build new home to trick the system into populate new home with couples in order to make babies. Bad timing means single people inside the homes = no babies = the city dies. This is the core of the game, since there's no skill tree or ingame mission. It plays well the first hours but I'm not OCD enough to play more than 10 hours without questioning my life choices.
Sent 30 kids to work in the mines and then everyone ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died
Banished looks simple at first, but it quietly pulls you in. You start with a handful of exiled families trying to survive the seasons. There is no money, no combat, and no story to follow. It is all about resource management, planning, and keeping everyone alive through the winter. The survival aspect is what makes it stand out. Every villager matters, every piece of food or firewood is important, and one small mistake can set off a chain reaction that ruins your town. It rewards careful planning and patience instead of fast growth or constant action. It does have its limits though. Once your town is stable, the game settles into a routine. The late game can feel repetitive, and the menus do not always explain things clearly. Figuring out how much food or fuel you’ll need takes trial and error. Still, that learning curve is part of what makes it satisfying when things finally run smoothly. If you want a flashy builder full of upgrades and storylines, this is not that kind of game. But if you enjoy slow, steady progress and the feeling of building something that really works, Banished still holds up. The community mods add a lot of variety, but even without them, it remains one of the best pure survival city builders out there.
I said yes, thats' enough.
Lovely game. Despite it's age it hold up really well.
