Terrible terrible terrible game, can't pass can't run what the point. Life is too short, game uninstalled and i won't be back even when the 2019 version inevitably rolls out with minor tweaks. Avoid

The A.I. is bad @ now (08/2019) in coach mode passes fall incomplete for both human and A.I. teams 80% of the time. And I'm not exaggerating. Recoloring uniforms in game is wonky and somewhat limited. There are no guards tackles de's dt's olb's mlb's cornerbacks or safeties on the roster screen. They're all called simply O line,D line linebackers and defensive backs respectively. You have to go into the forums to find out who will go where depending on their order in the roster. Then you'll need to remember what actual positions the computer will assign your O line and all of your defense people to while playing. This is not a big deal. But it is weird and mildly annoying. You can't throw all the players into a common draft pool and draft your own team To make a new team you have to do it outside the program and so you have to do everything manually. Including creating all 52 players along with all their ratings. The uniforms and logos require an old MS Paint thing I haven't used since I reskinned my character in GTA III 20 years ago. Speaking of the old days 2K and Madden did it a thousand times better back in the 2000's. For that matter Sierra's Front Page Sports series of the nineties let you do all of the above things in program and easily. Make teams pick the city and stadium type color the uniforms then make new leagues filled with NFL teams or the stock teams on the drive, your own teams, or a mixture of all three. And common draft pools of course. The A.I. was about as bad though. Axis Football does have some interesting mechanics in the football games themselves such as focusing your players on the pass or on smash mouth football among other options. The passing system is pretty good when you have control (as opposed to coach mode as noted above). It uses a tier system instead of a league one. I don't mind it but I'd prefer the regular league system with playoffs. I know others like the tier system so your mileage may vary there. Anyway I know this is a small dev team and this ♥♥♥♥ is hard. But I'm sorry, thumbs down.

It's too expensive for only a year of development. Maybe 8 or 10 bucks is reasonable but 22$ or more is not. The 2019 is released, i wanna try it for 5 to 10 bucks but it's like 30$. I will not buy the new one i'll probably play another 10 or 20 hours on this one that's it. It's a fun concept tho. I have just expected more of this for the price.

The most striking issue is that the recievers don't keep running once the ball is in the air. They tend to stop and wait, allowing the defensive player(s) to catch up and make a play on the ball. Everything outside of the actual on field gameplay is cool and promising, but the actual gameplay needs to improve dramatically to be worth the purchase.

Not very good. Bought it and thought about a refund but kept it hoping support would help the game grow and improve. No patches in long time.

I simulated a franchise season with stock team . No changes to players. Started with $25,000,000 ,after season 18 players needed contracts and only had $14,253,902 money to resign players. Something is wrong with this program. you can't even resign your stock team. Because of this i can't recommend this game if you want to play franchise.

This is not madden football, it is not as robust. The graphics are older, the scripted tackles a little cheap, the passing...weird? Fun for a while then, the flaws become unmanageable. I'm not into arcade stuff. I bought mostly for franchise mode, and that mode has critical flaws. - Player progression is not good. If you have a good QB, keep him forever, no matter the cost, because drafted QBs will never get better in my experience. (I found this to be true of all players in all positions-something broke in progression) - The salary cap is impossible to manage (regardless of silliness posted otherwise). The current implemented salary cap kills franchise for me. At a min the developers must have a way to disable it in it's current state. Re-signing more than one or two decent players is impossible. If you want a bunch of teams with garbage players, this dysfunctional cap system is how to do it. - Team mods exist (even for NFL), which is nice, but the community isn't here yet to keep them updated and I found no way of editing a created franchise (aka altering silly contract system) I bought 2017 now 2018. I won't buy another AXIS until some bugs are fixed and franchise is actually playable. Sorry, dev team just doesn't seem to get franchise issues and address them.
