Metroidvania-style game with a decent story. Weapons are varied and each feels unique.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Was very neat, worth the price.
The mind fears what i doesnt know, its a perfect phrase for this game, from the uncertainty of not knowing if a game developed by one person will be any good or not, to its protagonist and its seek for answers to questions about his past/path in his world, absolute gem overall, visually the pixel art did not disappoint in any regard and the music, simple, but so pitch perfect for its genre. Amazingly done Mr. Happ
Best Metroidvania there is, just buy it.
I enjoyed Axiom Verge. It is a very retro style Metroidvania with a labyrinth to explore that is very reminiscent of the NES Metroid. I completed the game on hard mode and died a lot. The enemies can be quite challenging but one of the features of the game is that you can "glitch" them. When you glitch enemies, most become easier to kill but some can be used to your advantage to find hidden items and paths. The boss fights are okay. They can be challenging in the early game but some of the weapons and the amount of health you can get make the later fights really easy. I can see the later fights being more challenging if you do a low percentage run. I got all the items. Some of the hidden items blend into the world very well and can easily be missed. I had to use a guide at the very end to get the few I missed. You also come across some "glitched" maps that include bonus items. You get a variety of weapons to play with. Some of them are very useful for dealing with tough enemies. You get a power up which lets you glitch enemies and traverse the world which I thought was very cool and fun to mess with. There are also health nodes to increase health and power nodes to make you more powerful. I thought the map was wonderful to explore and is up there with other Metroidvanias I played. It was the best part of the game. The environments felt very alien like and each zone had a unique look. You can sequence break and I was able to early on. I didn't really get the story, it wasn't that interesting to me. There was a cool event at about the halfway point of the plot that I liked but other than that the story was meh. Overall I think this is a good Metroidvania and I recommend it!
An insanely atmospheric metroidvania with more style than substance. Despite that, Axiom Verge still maintains good moment-to-moment gameplay and feel. That atmosphere and world-building are definitely the biggest draws here. There are an insane number of weapons, but given that you can still only use one of them at a time, there just isn't a point for there to be so many different weapons. They aren't unique enough, special enough, or have enough of a difference in power to justify their existence in many cases. They're fun, so there's that at least, but you arguably get more value out of 5 extra missiles in a Metroid game than you do picking up a new permanent weapon that you dislike and will never equip. These guns don't have environmental or puzzle interactivity (for the most part). They're just different ways of attacking. Still, the unsettling atmosphere and world is front and center. It might not have the best reasons to go exploring, but anyone trying to play through celebrated games in the metroidvania genre should do at least one run of Axiom Verge.
