This is the best fighting game in the last 10+ years in my opinion.
Inarguably rushed to release, with lots of rough edges, yet somehow incredibly fun to play. The movement feels incredible and the characters have extremely distinct play patterns. I generally prefer 3d fighting games and fighting games with short combos. This is neither, yet it manages to be some of the most fun I've ever had with a fighting game. Legends has such freedom and variety of neutral movement to make learning the hard stuff enticing rather than a miserable chore.
First ever fighting game, it just feels good to play.
🥊 The Core Premise: A Brilliant Idea Let’s be real: Avatar: The Last Airbender is a masterpiece of storytelling, and turning its fluid, martial-arts-based bending styles into a competitive 2D fighting game is an absolutely neat idea. The core combat framework genuinely honors the source material. Watching different eras of Avatars and benders clash should be a dream come true for any fan.Unfortunately, the game itself feels like it was rushed out the door by the publishers to capitalize on franchise hype, leaving us with a flawed, stripped-down product. The Cons: Why the Execution Fails 1. Casual Fans Are Left in the DustZero Difficulty Onboarding: If you are an Avatar fan who doesn't play heavy fighting games, prepare to get absolutely pulverized. The single-player arcade and story modes have no difficulty settings. The AI immediately plays like an esports professional, pulling off frame-perfect, brutal combos right out of the gate. Useless Tutorials: The tutorial tools are a mess. The combo trials walk you through inputs, but because the developers made last-minute frame data balance changes, the game's own demonstration combos fail to connect. It tells you what button to press but completely fails to teach you a real game plan. 2. A Bare-Bones, Rushed PresentationA "Multiverse" Filler Story: Despite having writers from the original show involved, the Story Mode is an incredibly boring, lazy 2/10 experience. It relies on a cheap "multiverse portal" plot just to explain why characters are fighting. There are zero animated cutscenes. The entire mode is just static character sprites standing in rigid fighting stances while shouting text bubbles at each other.Unfinished Characters: The launch roster is tiny (only 12 characters), and even then, some feel totally unfinished. Variant characters like Avatar Aang and Nightmare Korra literally have recycled attack animations copied directly from their base counterparts.Budget Menus: For a major franchise, the user interface and menus look incredibly cheap, basic, and unpolished. 3. Missing Features and Bare-Bones OnlineTerrible Matchmaking Interface: The online multiplayer lacks basic modern features. You cannot view public lobbies or see a list of active players. It forces you into a blind 1v1 matchmaking queue where your only options are to rematch the same random guy or go back to a long queue. No Spectator Mode: At launch, the online lobbies completely forgot to include a spectator option, meaning you can't even watch your friends play while you wait your turn.Zero Graphical Settings: The PC/Steam version features no graphics options menu. You cannot adjust resolutions or details in-game, and attempting to tweak the game's backend configuration files breaks the game entirely. If you are a hardcore fighting game enthusiast who loves complex combo routing, the mechanics here are great. But if you bought this simply because you love the world of Avatar, you will likely find it to be a frustrating
Game has soul in it and its not some slop fighting game. Even on my low end laptop the game runs great
Fun to play and I love the IP
Unfortunately unfinished but i see the vision, the gameplay is just insanely good
