About
A survival-action game inspired by real-life events, Atomfall is set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England.
Explore the fictional quarantine zone, scavenge, craft, barter, fight and talk your way through a British countryside setting filled with bizarre characters, mysticism, cults, and rogue government agencies.
From Rebellion, the studio behind Sniper Elite and Zombie Army, Atomfall will challenge you to solve the dark mystery of what really happened.
Player Driven Mystery: Unravel a tapestry of interwoven narratives through exploration, conversation, investigation, and combat, where every choice you make has consequences.
Search, Scavenge, Survive: You’ll need to scavenge for supplies, craft weapons and items, and fight desperately to make it out alive!
Desperate Combat: With weapons and ammunition scarce, each frenetic engagement will see you blend marksmanship with vicious hand-to-hand combat. Manage your heart rate to hold a steady aim and ensure you have the energy you need to reach for your cricket bat and land the killer blow.
Green and Unpleasant Land: The picturesque British countryside, with rolling green hills, lush valleys, and rural villages belie the dangers that await you. Navigate cult-controlled ruins, natural caves, nuclear bunkers and more as you explore this dense, foreboding world.
Reimagining Windscale: A fictional reimagining of a real-world event, Atomfall draws from science fiction, folk horror, and Cold War influences to create a world that is eerily familiar yet completely alien.

gud. as a fallout fan, first time I actually cared about the lore.
A very English apocalypse, basically there are not good endings
A nice twist on Fallout. Good plot with puzzles and threads to pull on. Well worth my time.
The game is fine overall, good in many places. The story is where it shines most and really should be a narrative driven RPG but it's not. The most interesting parts of the experience are meeting people and discovering the secrets of the zone and its characters. This is, however, not that in depth or developed because, again this isn't really a narrative driven experience. You can do what characters ask of you, or not, sometimes with no ramifications and things simply being left open ended. With no character creation, the game is limited only in how you choose to take things in each moment. The minute to minute gameplay is a survival horror (sometimes) adjacent experience. The whole thing boils down to a series of fetch quests interspersed with stealth which you will use probably in the earlier game and combat which you will likely use later. Resources are scarce and most everyone is hostile. It can be engaging, especially in its early hours, though quickly becomes tedious. There is not much enemy variety (about 5 off the top of my head) and once you have dealt with them once or twice, seeing them reappear over and over for entirety of the game will just feel like an annoyance. As mentioned before, the story is the strongest element of the game, though even here I would have to emphasise what is clearly the only thing driving the plot forward: mystery. This is fine and it is interesting to uncover what you can. But it really isn't that much. Even by the late game, nothing is particularly clear and barely anything is fully explained to you. You keep playing thinking, now I'll find out, or after this, it will all become obvious, but it doesn't. This can only carry a narrative so far and leaves you feeling a bit underwhelmed by the finale. Perhaps this is to set the game up for a sequel, which I would not be opposed to. Despite many criticisms, I would still suggest people give this game a go. The gameplay is more than passable and the story is mostly engaging. There's a lot of potential here and it would be fun to see where else this trajectory of alternate history can go. And for purely selfish reasons, as a UK resident its fun to see this country and its history depicted in games, and would always love to see more of it.
Pretty good fallout-like game set in rural England. Lots of cool ideas, the graphics are quite nice, and the flavour and story are very good with great characterizations. However the AI needs a bit of work with very odd movement and incredibly sharp eyed enemies that will destroy you from hundreds of metres away within a split second of seeing you while hidden behind cover. A few bugs here and there with the quest progression, but nothing too egregious. Overall I really enjoyed it and hope they do a sequel with some improvements.
sEHR iNNOVATIV
beautiful game 10/10, good old English slang as well very funny.
Game Breaking bugs even after such a long time ... wtf. And thanks to only 2 Auto Saves I can't even load back to before the bug happened ! I lost at least 1 1/2 hours to this and who knows when it will happen next time
