Abandoned trash
I took a break from Soulmask waiting for 1.0, randomly booted up Atlas… and I did not expect to get hooked. But here we are. First, the scale. This map is disrespectfully big. I’m talking “is this even a survival game?” big. It would probably take you ten real-life hours to sail across it, and the ships aren’t slow. There are islands everywhere. You hit the horizon and the game’s like, “Oh you thought you were done? That’s cute.” Visually? It’s legit. The water especially looks insane. Storms roll in, waves start bullying your ship, you’re fighting the wheel like a dad backing up a trailer. It’s not “good for early access.” It’s just good. I’m on the Radioactive server... downloaded one giant all-in-one mod and that’s it. Bigger storage, better ships, fish traps, quality-of-life everywhere. It feels like the version of the game that went to therapy and got its life together. Now here’s what shocked me: the respec system. Free character respec. Free tech tree reset. You can go all-in on one tree, craft what you need, reset, and pivot. No punishment. No “welp, guess I ruined my build.” It actually respects your time. Survival games don’t usually do that. They usually hand you consequences and laugh. But don’t get it twisted... the game will humble you. You’ll tame an animal, level it for days, name it something stupid like Sir Chompsalot… then accidentally follow a higher level treasure map that you have no business doing yet and your tame dies instantly. Just gone. And you sit there like, “Yeah. That’s on me.” It’s brutal. Which is exactly why the wins feel so good. And the community? Weirdly healthy. There's been a base on every island I've visited so far, there's no base wiping. No trolls in the chat. People actually want you to succeed because they benefit from having more players on their island. I asked where to buy seeds in world chat. A guy left his base to show me. Before he got there, someone else intercepted and helped first. Sometimes I'm exploring and I see someone else working near their base and they'll drop me a few armor/tool/weapon blueprints. Quality of life is strong too. Mass crafting queues up and keeps going. There’s a /map browser tool where you can type “bear,” “honey,” specific wood types — and it shows you exactly where to go. No more sailing around pointlessly. Base building is smooth. Pieces snap correctly. You can stack foundations to flatten terrain. The first group I joined had a base so big it felt like a small town. They even built me an upgraded starter ship and basically said, “Go be somebody.” Atlas isn’t perfect. It’s stressful. It’s punishing. But the scale, the systems, and the community all come together in a way that just feels good to log into. You’re sailing, storms rolling in, crew on deck… and you catch yourself thinking: “Okay. This is kinda sick.” And I genuinely didn’t expect to say that.
Ran like hot garbage and not sure there's an actual game underneath all of this. Big red flag now the public servers have been shut down.
they stopped working on game didnt finish and left here to make money that they dont even update they literaly stopped working on the game
Actually a dead game.
"ARK With Boats" : Yet another janky abandoned games by the guys who brought you 20 versions of unfinished ARK, .
