This is, by far, the best collection of Atari classics that's ever been released in my opinion. They've done a great job getting the rights to as many games as possible and then bundling them with a wealth of amazing Atari history. As they work to acquire more games, they can release them via DLC like they've been doing. For an old gamer like me, this collection is about as good as it gets! It's a great trip down memory lane, feeding the nostalgia beast within, and allowing me to enjoy a small sample of a simpler time. Easily recommended!
This is a trip down memory lane like there ever was one. I love the old arcade games from my childhood. Also the interviews with all the Atari guys and programmers are great, personally I would have liked even more of those. I recommend it for anyone interested in the dawn of video and computer gaming.
they added analog controls to tempest 2000 and that alone makes this worth it
I'm not the biggest 2600 guy, being born in 2001 will do that to you (even tho I grew up with a Genesis, but that's besides the point). Considering that, you would think this collection wouldn't hold my attention the way it does or appeal as much as it does, but nah, it manages to. This is possibly my favorite video game compilation just about ever. The way it presents Atari's history is already a boon in its favor, but it also managed to introduce me to a number of games I never would've known to love otherwise, turning me into an Atari fan. I've grown to love Atari Karts, Tempest 2000, Ninja Golf, Maze Invaders, Food Fight, I Robot, Yooomp, Yars' Revenge (both reimagined and 2600 og), and Touch Me, among a few others. Even if everything else I don't end up touching ever or more than once, I'm certain you'd find something in there for you. The inclusion of so many Jaguar and arcade games makes me quite happy, and long live Ninja Golf and Yars' Revenge.
Definitely not worth it. Nickel and Dime should be the description.
the very famous river raid is not included.... shame atari . i like the timeline however.
So many memories. These games are very satisfying even 50 years later.
Atari.
As an 80s kid who dropped way too many quarters into masochistic games designed to move my 12 yr old ass on to the next game asap, this collection of arcade games is a kids fantasy come true….they even gots Berzerk!
