Please add the ability to reassign all of the controls. I was just playing 2600 Millipede-- the game I play the most of in this collection-- and was in the process of getting a nice score (for me) when the game suddenly reset because my finger brushed up against the Right Control key by accident while using the arrow cursor control keys to play. So when I go to reassign the Reset function to a different key, I see that it-- along with just over half of the other game controls-- are grayed-out and cannot be remapped. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF YAR, LET US REMAP ALL OF THE GAME CONTROLS SO THAT SORT OF THING WON'T HAPPEN!
Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration
The games are boring and old and I didn't play them! But I really enjoyed the museum feature! It's very well designed and educational! I spent like six hours just poring over it and watching the little mini documentaries! One of them was about this old Asian chick who did graphic design for Atari! Then it started showing pics of her from the 70s and she was hot! Time gradually ruins everything! We're getting older every second and we're all going to die!
Ok, these games are very much 'of their time' and most of them are probably only going to appeal to hardcore video game historians and people who are nostalgic about them from their childhood. But that being said, there are some real gems in this collection - as fun and addictive as they no doubt were when they were hot off the shelves. O.G. Pac Man, Breakout, Dig Dug, Bezerk, Frenzy, Galaxian, Galaga, Xevious, Asteroids, Dark Chambers; the list goes on - all fantastic games and well worth the price. Looking forward to the next DLC!
I won't recommend this because Atari confiscated my paid-for Atari Vault that had Battlezone to launch this.
i wish it had all the games , no fast food, gate keeper and some other famous games are missing :( and keys are not that good !
Excellent and interesting interactive documentary. Digital Eclipse has found quite a groovy way to do these things, I have to say. It's fun to be able to muck about with the games as you read and watch videos about them, and also try out unreleased things, new things and more obscure versions. To be fair, I don't have any real nostalgia for early Atari, and in my opinion there aren't many games from that era that hold up today. Quite few actually. But I love the fact that this exists and it's fun to mess around with. To see the rise of the glory days with innovation and trendsetting, to the horrible decisions that spelled their downfall.
Could definitely be the best compilation game ever made. If you care about pre NES era gaming this is a must buy. The Jaguar titles included is just icing on the already yummy cake
I'm very impressed with this anthology. The features and formatting have exceeded my expectation. Highly recommended for any gamer looking for nostalgia and a great way to introduce the golden age of gaming to new comers. Killer soundtrack too.
A nice trip down memory lane. Nicely put together.
