It's.. interesting to see the hate for this game but the love for Shadows. This is top 3 for the entirety of the AC franchise for me. I never buy DLC/expansions but I did with Odyssey. I loved every moment of the game. It's not the typical AC game, but neither was black flag and that was loved by all. Is it hypocrisy? Is it the blind following article titles? Who knows. This game was fantastic and I recommend it 100%. Shadows was absolutely horrendous. Ubisoft deserves to lose the franchise. Such a terrible company.

For many years, I really love the game that allows me to dive into the history of the ancient civilization, and Ubisoft has made the good game in 2018, known as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, marked one of the biggest transformations in Ubisoft's long-running franchise. Although I really like this franchise (from 1 to Shadows) and I want to recommend this game positively, but I expect some information or game phases need to improve in the future. I. Graphics Although the game does not apply the latest technology of game development, but one of Odyssey's greatest strengths is its breathtaking recreation of Ancient Greece. Ubisoft's artists crafted a world that feels vibrant and alive, filled with crystal-clear coastlines, lush forests, bustling cities, towering temples, and sun-drenched islands. Every region possesses its own unique visual identity, making exploration consistently rewarding. Character models remain impressive despite the game's age. Armor sets feature intricate historical-inspired designs, and facial animations during major story moments are noticeably improved compared to previous entries in the franchise. Although newer titles like Assassin's Creed Shadows feature more advanced technologies such as ray tracing and modern facial rendering, I expect that Odyssey continues to deliver one of the franchise's most visually appealing worlds thanks to its artistic direction rather than pure technical complexity. II. Performance The current modern hardware can easily run at maximum settings, even the semi-legacy hardware. The game scales well across different configurations and supports such as options, customization, displays. However, some several issues such as crashing, FPS droping, image stuttering should be prioritized to fix in order not to affect the game's quality. III. Story Unlike earlier Assassin's Creed games that focused primarily on the conflict between the Assassins and the Templars, Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes players back to a time long before either organization officially existed. Instead, the story revolves around a deeply personal journey of family, identity, and destiny during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. Players can choose to play as Kassandra or Alexios, two Spartan siblings separated by tragedy at a young age. Although both characters share the same storyline, Kassandra is widely considered the stronger performance thanks to her expressive voice acting and charismatic personality. The narrative successfully blends historical events with Greek mythology. Famous figures such as Pericles, Sokrates, Alkibiades, and Herodotos accompany the player throughout the adventure, making Ancient Greece feel authentic while still embracing the franchise's science-fiction lore. One of Odyssey's biggest innovations is the inclusion of dialogue choices and multiple endings. Decisions made throughout the game can influence relationships, quest outcomes, and ultimately determine the fate of your family. While not every choice drastically changes the overall narrative, they provide a welcome sense of role-playing rarely seen in previous Assassin's Creed entries. IV. Gameplay Assassin's Creed Odyssey fully embraces the action RPG formula introduced in Origins, expanding nearly every gameplay system into something deeper and more customizable including combat, naval combat and exploration. Combat is fast, fluid, and ability-driven. Instead of relying solely on traditional hidden blade assassinations, players unlock powerful combat skills through three specialization trees, the special abilities make battles dynamic and visually satisfying. V. Accessibility and Global Reach One increasingly important consideration for PC gamers today is game availability across different regions. In recent years, several Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) published PC games—including titles such as Helldivers 2, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, and the PC version of God of War Ragnarök—have faced sales restrictions in countries where PlayStation Network (PSN) is not officially supported. As a result, players in many regions have been unable to purchase these games through Steam despite owning capable gaming hardware. Because Odyssey is published by Ubisoft rather than Sony, it is not dependent on PlayStation Network availability. Players can purchase and play the game using either Steam or Ubisoft account to play across many devices thanks to cross-platform ownership through Ubisoft Connect VI. Conclusion Even several years after release, Assassin's Creed Odyssey remains one of Ubisoft's finest open-world RPGs. Its stunning recreation of Ancient Greece, rewarding exploration, polished combat system, and enormous amount of content make it a game that can easily provide well over 100 hours of entertainment. For newcomers and returning fans alike, Assassin's Creed Odyssey continues to stand as one of the strongest entries in the franchise—a visually stunning adventure that combines historical authenticity, mythological storytelling, and expansive RPG gameplay into one unforgettable journey.
