Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This was my second go at the game, my first was when I was playing through the series in order (with the exception of Origins) on console. At the time, I really, really, really, really didn't like this game. Everyone had hyped it up to such a huge degree, and coming from Assassin's Creed 1 adoring the narrative, my expectations were way up considering AC2 consistently finds itself atop peoples favorites and receives much praise. What I was met with though, was a predictable and underwhelming plot with a protagonist who was too stagnant and villains that lost all of their nuance and were so incompetent they had to cheat at party games to keep an Assassin from getting to the doge and spent 30 minutes underground planning in secret when their plan boiled down to "run and flail at Lorenzo de Medici and stab him or something idk." Setting aside the predictability of the plot, Ezio is a decent protagonist. He feels to me a direct response to Altair in the sense that a desire for a more digestible protagonist would do the series good (and it clearly worked) but he ends up being far too perfect and quite boring. He seeks vengeance, kills, feels empty, stops seeking vengeance. To the games credit, there is a slight twist to the cookie cutter revenge narrative where the final decision made with Rodrigo is not treated as a good choice, but that's only solidified retroactively in Brotherhood. The mechanics were hit or miss. The combat became not more difficult than the first as it should have been, rather it evolved to be super tedious. Spam the x button until Ezio decides now is the time to kill the guy. They slather on a bunch of extra buttons and stuff but that really doesn't do much to dress the combo and counter system. The stealth suffers much from the same issue. I used poison blades once. That was it, and it was in a side mission. Throwing knives also end up taking two hits to kill, which makes them almost completely irrelevant, and the mission design is a lot less open than the first with very clear intended paths and forced detections that I'm not a fan of. Not to mention the mission where they tell you a way to remain undetected and it flat out just doesn't work (looking at you, Marco Babarigo.) I have since then gained a greater appreciation for the game. It still doesn't make my podium, but I do like some things. It carries the story from AC1 well, even if it does sacrifice some of the diagetic elements of the gameplay and story and bubbles down the Assassin V.S Templar conflict to good pit against evil. What it does well is display Altairs reformation of the creed. The best moment of this game is the reveal of how the Assassin order works after Altair altered parts of the purpose and function of the creed. The game does a pretty good job of communicating this through it's ludonarrative as well.
