Day of Defeat Source is a good online multiplayer game if you want to kill some time and kill some nazis at the same time. It is fun for a little while if you are playing alone like me, but the fun is done quite quick as it is repetitive and not many servers are online at this point of time. I played a lot with bots, which was hilarious, played a bit with actual people, which was nice. And that's all, there were only 2 servers playable from my location (Japan) Classic FPS, fun times

An amazing WW2 arcade shooter! It's a mix between TF2 and CS, with an excellent gunplay and level design. I highly recommend it !
this is 100% my favorite game of all time even thought i dont play it much anymore, this game is literally the reason my name is defeat!!
Score: 8.5/10 Day of Defeat: Source is a World War II multiplayer shooter focused on teamwork, objective-based gameplay, and authentic-feeling infantry combat. Built on Valve's Source engine, it emphasizes positioning, communication, and map control rather than fast-paced run-and-gun action. What it does well ✅ Strong Team-Based Gameplay Victory depends on capturing objectives and supporting teammates. Every class serves a useful purpose on the battlefield. ✅ Immersive World War II Atmosphere The maps effectively recreate war-torn towns, villages, and military positions. Weapon sounds and environmental effects add to the experience. ✅ Balanced Class System Riflemen, support gunners, snipers, and assault troops each have distinct roles. Team composition can significantly affect the outcome of a match. ✅ Rewarding Combat Weapons feel powerful and dangerous. Good positioning and accuracy are often more important than reflexes alone. Weaknesses ❌ Steep Learning Curve New players may struggle against experienced veterans. ❌ Limited Content by Modern Standards The number of official maps and modes is relatively small. ❌ Smaller Community Finding populated servers can be more difficult than during the game's peak years. Who will enjoy it? You'll probably enjoy it if you like: World War II settings Objective-based multiplayer Tactical teamwork Historical weaponry Competitive shooters Standout Features Class-based combat Objective-focused gameplay Realistic weapon handling Iconic Source engine visuals Community maps and servers Strong emphasis on teamwork Verdict Day of Defeat: Source remains a memorable multiplayer shooter thanks to its focus on teamwork, tactical movement, and objective control. The combat is straightforward to understand but rewarding to master, and the World War II setting is presented with care and atmosphere. Even years after release, it retains a dedicated following and continues to offer engaging battles for players who appreciate coordinated team play. 🎖️🔫🏰
i grew up playing this game and i spent unhealthy amounts of hours 8-9 years ago. now that i have my own money i bought it for myself and its worth it. its easy to play and fun to play after work. WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT!!!
The recognisability of the Source junk, with the similarity of class based multiplayer found in Team Fortress and the team based approach found in Counter-Strike with the uniqueness of it's setting and difficulty makes this gem of a game feeling recognisable and unique simultaneously.
Literally no servers but still fun either way
Drop your weapons !
great game
