Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 8 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

EDIT: As of the release of Proton Beta 10 the game appears fully playable; minimal sound static, no need to downgrade the game into a Beta version either. Trying to play on Linux Mint. Forced to "Beta" downgrade to the previous version of 3.10. due to audio crackle being present in the up to date version; this does not occur on Windows. Works incredibly well on appropriate hardware; I practically spend no time during loading sequences. Tl;DR HD Super High Sci/fi Risk with rock/paper/scissors, hero units, resource nodes and deployed abilities. Not a MOBA; a true to heart mass army RTS that will destroy your CPU if it's not fast enough.
Ashes of the Singularity carries a familiar essence, particularly for fans of Supreme Commander. The influence is undeniable, and I could feel its spirit seeping through the gameplay. The campaign offers a solid, well-structured experience, while the multiplayer delivers the standard fare you’d expect from an RTS. That, in essence, is the theme of this game—it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it delivers a polished and well-executed version of familiar mechanics. My biggest gripe is the unit design. Many units look too similar, which can make it difficult to differentiate them at a glance. Additionally, the two main factions, while distinct in playstyle, share a somewhat uniform aesthetic, which makes them feel less visually unique than they could be. On the positive side, the game excels in its command and control mechanics. The speed at which you can build, group, and maneuver your forces is impressive. The V key will quickly become your best friend, as it allows you to form cohesive armies that support one another effectively. However, the attack-move function can be a bit frustrating—frontline units will engage while those in the rear sometimes idle instead of pushing forward. The best workaround is to avoid attack-move and instead overshoot your target, ensuring your forces spread out and engage as intended. If you find Ashes of the Singularity on sale and have a soft spot for Supreme Commander, it’s absolutely worth picking up. I’ve had a great time with it, and despite some minor flaws, it delivers an enjoyable large-scale RTS experience.

Alright game, but is missing proper army formations which made me drop it. The unit AI is awful for something it tries to do.
The game is fun, when you can play. However, being able to play a full match is becoming increasingly rare. In single player the game crashes constantly. The save functionality will completely stop working preventing you from saving your match. So good luck finishing a skirmish match of any decent length. Multiplayer is even worse. Not only does it crashes frequently but the game is currently plagued with desync issues that completely corrupt a match. One or more players will get disconnected and the saves (auto or otherwise) will never load. So if you're lucky to have a game go on for any decent length of time the chance you'll lose all your progress is high. Bugs aside, even when you can play you have to disable aircraft because the AI will spam them around their Nexus to the point the game becomes unplayable. I wish that was the game's only issue though. In it's current state I can't recommend the game and honestly believe it should be pulled from the store. The devs are still somewhat active with the community, the last reply about the multiplayer issues was in June, but none of their "fixes" have had any success. Whether this is due to incompetence or lack of motivation due to the game's age and dwindling player base is uncertain.
pathing is horrible and the design of "army blops punch eachother" is horrid. the eco is a nightmare as well. game feels like its from 2001
Less than 5% of Steam players finished the single player campaign of Ashes, and multiplayer is apparently broken for good. Seems like an obvious thumbs down. But for a certain narrow category of players

casual player
focused on single player campaign
enjoyed Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance but wish the campaign was longer
not too finicky about graphics performance
even in 2024, I would recommend the game, based on the single player campaign. Much of my commentary references or compares to SCFA. Good:

31 missions, 4 or 5 of which might be considered tutorial
excellent variety of scenarios and objectives
excellent difficulty balance. I played on normal (usual practice for me). I'd fail a typical mission ~2 times and complete it on the 3rd attempt.
A few of the maps/missions are epic or at least near epic.
Voice acting is good, especially kyle Hebert voicing Mac.
overall economy design is engaging
IMO the "capture and hold Turinium generator until critical mass" gameplay mode has a lot of appeal. That is only employed on a couple of missions. But you can choose that in skirmish vs. AI.
As many quick-saves as you like.
Not so good:

Multiplayer apparently is completely broken. (According to the forums - I didn't try.)
User Interface is inferior to SCFA. Build queue (or lack thereof), having to click a unit (and lose your selection) to see a description... etc, etc. I'm at 200+ hours with Ashes so it isn't lack of familiarity talking here.
Heavy load on your graphics card. My RX 6600 XT is marketed @ 1080p but runs most games OK @ 1440p (60Hz). With medium graphics settings, Ashes makes 60fps @ 1080p most of the time, with the GPU fans running loudly.
Yet the displayed graphics are so-so. Effects are OK. IMO not eye candy like Titanfall 2 or Death Stranding. About like SCFA, which runs fine @ 1440p for me.
no reclaim (brilliant feature of SCFA economy).
fog of war: I complain about this on every RTS, but it aggravated me more on Ashes than most. Unit visibility range is really short. Scouts are weak/vulnerable. When your last unit in the enemy midst dies, poof your view goes to a "heat map" (assuming you have radar). Then you can't even see the artillery that is savaging your forward units. Not my idea of fun.
(subjective) A lot of the maps are just ugly IMO. Lots of browns and dark reds and near black.
shrug:

two factions, pretty well balanced
tech tree is simpler than SCFA, but complex enough that I had all the head scratching and vexing trade-off decisions I wanted.
no navy.
no map spanning long range artillery. You could argue this makes the bigger maps more epic...
Skirmish vs. AI seems to work fine and there appears to be a pretty good variety of maps. I would have included this in the good list but at this point I've only played one skirmish match.
unit control: I complain about this on every RTS. In Ashes, the smaller land units are called frigates and cruisers. Maybe due to how they maneuver. I won't give details on the "AI", but overall it seems just as vexing as SCFA.
Before playing this game, I found little interest in the story or lore of any RTS game**. I didn't take much interest in this story either.
Tutorial missions are rushed/useless. Added after launch? Not deducting points since the early missions serve the purpose.
**possible exception: Sacrifice
I can't move my units in formation? Units break formation and attack at will? Am I the commander, or not?
another dead game, last update make the game lagy and not fun as it used to be, thanks
