The amount of customization alone makes this game a joy to play. That, coupled with a narrative that doesn't get boring while working through different endings with new bosses around every corner to keep the player on their toes. None of the bosses ever felt unfair without detracting from their difficulty or the satisfaction of beating one after hours of retries. I have mostly nothing negative to say except that this game leaves a large, mech shaped hole in my heart waiting for something else that can compare.
I do also wish tetrapods had more options/mobility. Maybe I'm just bad or haven't found a good build but it feels like you just get shot in the face by everything

Also Rusty you're my best friend, and you deserved better buddy.
Loved it. I found a build that clicked early (slow hound missiles, a revolver, and the strongest one hit melee weapon I can equip) and got through the entire game without having to change it too much. One of few games I might replay in the future just for the hell of it. The progression of being a little baby merc that is fearful of weak dossers to being a threat that can wipe out corporations felt rather natural, well paced, and rewarding as hell.
Man this whole game was just a spectacle to play through. Highly recommend.

Truly one of the games ever
AC6 is a boring game with a laughably low skill ceiling. The only things that provide any semblance of challenge are the boss fights which you get about once an hour. The regular enemies are so underpowered that the entire game is a boring snoozefest and then the boss fights are absurd difficulty spikes. The only thing that the player has to do if you are even remotely skilled at action games is change your loadout to deal with different bosses. It is a cheap and tedious way to challenge the player. Since you can sell parts for the same money as you buy them, there is no long term strategy to building your mech and this allows FromSoft to not have to balance the game in any way. Having trouble with a boss? Just sell all your parts and try some different ones. Why is there even money in this game at all? You can also replay missions and get the full money amount as many times as you want. I’m sure it is very appealing to casual gamers and room temp IQ types. AC6 might have the worst pacing and challenge curve (if graphed it would be a roller coaster, or even a series of mesas) of any game I've ever played. The bosses are not actually hard, but since there is literally zero challenge from normal enemies the difficulty jump is close to infinite. I cannot stress enough, just how boring the normal missions are. Who likes this auto aim combat? This game is more casual than GTA or Read Dead Redemption. Balancing a game around gear checks, when you essentially have infinite money, is not even remotely interesting. But hey, FromSoft needs to be glazed for the gaming ecosystem to function, so their fanboys will glaze them and try to argue with anyone who has common sense. The writing and narrative are also dog**** that FromSoft glazers will lie about being good. It's bottom of the barrel dreck. AC6 has a cool aesthetic with decent music, but every other aspect of this game is below average to downright terrible. Every MechWarrior game released this century is better in every single way except graphics. But, if you're a weirdo weeb or someone that likes zero challenge in your games, you will love this trash! Outside of the hardcore dishonest FromSoft fanboy types, this game will appeal to old men who cannot take twitch skill challenge anymore (the type of losers who call anyone halfway decent at a PvP game “sweats”), children under 12 who still suck at games, graphics ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who worship aesthetic over gameplay (which is a big percent of FromSoft stans), and loser weebs who want to live out their anime mech fantasies. Maybe if you want a really shallow trial & error puzzle game with cursory action set pieces in-between the puzzles you would find this appealing? AC6 might as well be an auto-battler where you build the mech and send it off to fight and you just sit back and watch. If you’ve played and beaten any real action game in the last 25 years, this game will probably bore you to tears. AC6 is all style, and literally zero substance. 3/10 Edit: One hour after I post my review on a three year old game there are already FromSoft fanboys giving me jester awards. These people are pathetic.
