Came back after 3 years and WOW! Almost NOTHING new... virtually zero development since i left the game in 2023. Guess ill try again in 2030
Dear Axolot Games, PLEASE give us Gear parts (Spur, Helical, Rack and Pinion) for Chapter 2. I do not care how long it will be until the game's next update, but please... when you do, give us Gear parts. I need this. My steering setup is kinda gearless... *tries to hold laugh* Kind regards, Jadey Moyaison, a Mechanic of Scraps.
honestly I have owned this game since a few years after survival dropped and I had vary little hope for this games continued development, we hadn't heard anything from Axolot Games for years. still nice to see the game is being worked on but Axolot maybe next time don't leave us in the dark for so long. even just a little update to your socials that says "hey we are still working on Scrap Mechanic" that would go a long way guys
Really, really good game, love the atmosphere and have been watching it on youtube since 2016. CHAPTER 2 Tomorrow.
когда первый раз с другом только зашли в выживание в этой игре, засели играть на трое суток без перерыва и сна, очень затянула, после прохождения спустя месяц перепрошли ещё за сутки. спустя год всё равно хочется зайти и перепройти
This game is what i grew up watching and its all it was worked up to be by the youtubers that played it. It is so fun in survival and creative just to build and test things i may not be good at it but i do love it.
The best physics simulation game on the market. You can build quite literally, anything you can think of. There's currently room for improvement, but its already league's above all competitors. If only they actually updated regularly. Draggable wedges were the last update we got and that was last year of im not mistaken. 1 update per year isnt "content being made and optimizations happening regularly lol. Its just once a year.... if we are lucky. Love the game, just not the devs lies. Theres no reason for it. Be honest. Its the best policy
Let's start of by adressing the elephant in the room. It has been a solid 6 years since survival came out and since then we have had very little of ACTUAL content, sure we got wedges and better physics but if we're actually talking content and story we got nothing. Besides the obvious fact that this dev team is either dead, underfunded, understaffed or just ignoring the game, there are also good things to say about this game. First of all the multiplayer is seamless, I have played multiplayer with one of my buddies and have had a great time, vanilla and modded. The building mechanics are super fun, intuitive yet can be rather challenging in a good way. The way the game throws unique and interesting problmes at you makes for a fun time trying to solve them either by making a machine to do it or just by pure labour. The fact that you can make a giant machine to fly around and drill rocks or make a semi-truck to battle harvesters is super fun, just by the virtue of building and designing the machines. Thirdly, the survival aspect of this game is well implemented with the already existing engeneering part of the game that was already in place before the survival. It doesnt feel like they just slapped on a health and food bar and called it a day. All in all the stuff that is already in the game is super fun, entertaining, you can easily sink a few hours into this game and not notice it. It has good multiplayer, good core systems and building mechanics and is overall just well put together Now to get to the bad side of this game... I'll preface this by saying this is an early acces game and we kind of signed up for this but the state the game is in right now is pathetic to say the least. Like I said at the start its been 6 years and we haven't gotten anything new and major to survival. Everything that was there on release is this the only content that is present and a part of it is still left unfinished. For those who haven't played this game yet I'll try to keep it brief and not ruin some of the mystery and problem solving. So there are these warehouses that act as end-game dungeons. These warehouses are unfinished, there is no goal whatsoever besides the fact that u can get resources and loot. The end of the warehouse is literally non-existant, you flip a switch, get to the loot rooms and thats it. Then u end up on the roof and either drop all your stuff and jump down or try to go through the whole thing again to get back to the ground floor. Thats really it for end-game content, I just summerized it in a few lines and thats it... There is also a while farming and raid mechanic but these are also left rather unpolsihed. all I have to say about these parts is that this DID feel like an afterthought and just put in the game for later expansion. This expansion never came, not even in a small fix or polishing update, the way it released is the way it is right now. Besides the lackluster end-game content I have yet to speak about the promised content and updates. While the only things I can complain about that's in the game already, are the warehouses and farm mechanics. The real problems come when we get to the updates part. This dev team has been promising an update for the past 4 years. I distinctly remember them post-poning the release of chapter 2 around christmas 2023, which is okay, I mean you tend to run into problems and just a year behind is fine. The problem lies when they have yet to post anything about the release date since that update. We keep getting dev-blog's and little sneak peaks at the next update, but never an actual release date or even year. The biggest problme with me, and the rest of the community is that there is absolutely NO communication whatsoever. I'll keep this part brief when I say, don't buy this game yet. It's an amazing and fun game but is held back by the lackluster development. If you wanna have a week of fun with your friends or alone? Go ahead buy it, but this is not a game that you can play for months on end. If you do wanna have fun for a long time you have to install mods, those ARE really good. That's all I really have to say, it bums me out that we have to wait so long for a game all of us love and wanna see grow. I and a lot of the community am just scared that this game will die in the state it is in right now. TL;DR: Don't buy this game untill it updates, or buy it if u wanna have a bit of fun or install mods for it.
It was fun when i was a kid, but since then i have grown out of the hype and i don't have any patience to wait for this game any more. They got too much time, too much money and have too high standards and now we have a game that is in development for too long. Its not worth the wait anymore. Go play something else, there are so many polished good indie game out there.
