Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Aug 27 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Arma: Cold War Assault now runs on a modernized version of its original Poseidon engine: native 64-bit, Windows and Linux, support for ultrawide and high-refresh displays, full game-controller support, and a modern audio and networking stack, while it still plays exactly like the genre-defining original.
The engine is now open source
Bohemia Interactive has released the engine and game source code under the GNU GPL v3.0-or-later, in the spirit of id Software's classic source releases. Anyone can study it, build it, port it, and create with it. Game data and assets remain under Bohemia's Arma Public License Share Alike (APL-SA).
A free Demo is available on Steam if you want to try the engine before buying the full data and campaigns.

Modern audio: OpenAL backend with integrated voice chat (VON)

I spent 15 minutes crawling through grass, heard a crack, and died instantly. Brings back a lot of childhood memories, this is where it all started. 10/10
I used to play the sh*t out of the demo when I was a kid. Editor kept me busy during the cold winter months.

DISCLAIMER: This is more of an homage to the good memory of the original Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis instead of an actual review of the Remaster. IMPORTANT NOTE: The only change I made to the default controls was setting the mouse sensitivity to the lowest possible value. Without that the game was a mess. I used to play lots of Operation Flashpoint back in the day, long before getting Steam or having access to the Web, thus my play hours should not mislead you. The game was groundbreaking then, and one could say it is still awesome in many ways. The most treasured thing for me was the editor which fueled, unleashed, fulfilled, and shattered multitudes of my dreams. Anyways, I got the Remaster for free because I already own the base game, so I downloaded it and completed the "Steal the Car" mission, just like when I launched Flashpoint for the very first time. Afterwards, I set up and beat a small skirmish on Everon with a couple of waypoints and triggers using the editor. Later, I played through the few first missions of the Cold War Crisis campaign — besides the typical OFP jank, everything seemed to work just fine. Though, funny enough, for the first time in all these years I somehow managed to break the trigger sequence during the obstacle course and thus had to restart. The first four missions felt exactly the same, with some subtitles overlapping and sounds playing a bit too early or too late. I also noticed vertical black bars covering too much to the left and to the right of the screen during some of the cutscenes, as if not programmed with higher screen resolutions in mind. Excluding that, the Remaster seems to work smoothly out of the box on my PC. Everything looks quite sharp, but not fake or plasticky. The terrain looks more detailed with the amount of little bumps and depressions increased, like on the higher settings in the original game. These are my first impressions. PS: The Remaster sits in a folder with the old version of the game, so you can still access the OG version. PPS: The old version works for me out of the box as well, but I have lots of different libraries installed on my PC, so your experience may differ.
its five dollars, under 1gb size, and runs on a geekbar for a sandbox military shooter. worth it
Controls like absolute ass
♥♥♥♥♥, спасибо за ремастер, теперь можно на новом железе нормально играть
They released the source code!!!
Its a bit bugged. In mission to find first SCUD upon loading save youre notified youve been discovered and SCUD will launch in 5 minutes. Then in last mission game drops save by itself the exact moment enemy launches second SCUD after youve captured general, if you load the save youre immediately taken into this cutscene. So two gamebreaking bugs. Not thrilled, at least Ive played the game enough times in my life. Devs making source code public is noce but if you want to experience non broken game play good old original. This remaster doesnt bring anything to the table really.
0ne of the best games ever, ARMA or as it was originally called Operation FLASHPOINT is a true gem, great story, great gameplay, countless option for replayability ....overall simply, ARMA is the GOAT
