I really wanted to play this game, but it is unplayable, because the renderer is broken. I was patient and waited 6 month or a year, but it seems it will not get fixed, because the issue exists since the beginning.
Very interesting game, nice country and buildings. I like walking around my village and listening sound of sheep and pigs. But I really hate wolfs !
Great building Castle towns system. Verry nice atmosphere. Thx fot this game.
Středověká strategie, to prostě nemůže úplně selhat. Od dob "Age of Kings" a "Knights and Merchants" se v této věci nic nového nevymyslelo. Tím hratelnost hry stojí a padá.
Decent little game and developer is active and answered all my questions. Enjoying the game so far and looking forward to the patches to come.

interesting medieval strategy in early access - different terrains, lots of different resources, economy and war, animal and barbarins, trade or conquer, manage & build - game with a grate potential you can spend days in.
Archamon, developed and published by Vionsoft, is an ambitious attempt to blend city-building, survival mechanics, and light real-time strategy into a single medieval-themed sandbox. It sets out to simulate not just the construction of a settlement, but the evolution of a living society—one that must gather resources, survive environmental challenges, and gradually develop social structure and hierarchy. The concept is compelling and offers a strong sense of scale, but the execution reveals a game that struggles to fully support its own ideas. The foundation of the experience revolves around building and sustaining a settlement in a procedurally generated world. Players begin with a small group of settlers and must manage essential needs such as food, shelter, and resource production. Over time, this expands into more complex systems involving infrastructure, defense, and population growth. The survival aspect is particularly prominent, as changing seasons and limited resources force players to think carefully about long-term planning. This gives the early stages of the game a sense of tension and purpose, as every decision directly affects the survival of the settlement. One of the more distinctive features is the inclusion of social and hierarchical systems. Players can establish noble families, influence social roles, and gradually shape the structure of their society. This adds an extra dimension to the traditional city-building formula, suggesting a deeper level of progression beyond simply expanding territory or increasing production. However, while these systems are conceptually interesting, they often feel underdeveloped in practice. Their impact on gameplay is limited, and they do not always integrate smoothly with the core management mechanics, leaving them feeling more like optional layers than essential components. The game offers several modes that cater to different playstyles, including survival-focused scenarios, more relaxed building experiences, and modes that emphasize combat and defense against external threats. This variety gives players some flexibility in how they approach the game, but the underlying mechanics remain largely the same across all modes. As a result, the differences between them can feel superficial, and the sense of variety diminishes over time as repetition sets in. Where Archamon encounters its biggest challenges is in usability and polish. The interface can feel clunky, and managing multiple systems is not always as intuitive as it should be. Units do not always behave predictably, and the feedback provided by the game can be unclear, making it difficult to execute plans efficiently. Instead of focusing on strategic decisions, players may find themselves wrestling with controls and trying to interpret what the game is doing. This lack of refinement significantly affects the overall experience, especially in a genre where clarity and responsiveness are crucial. The learning curve is also steep, partly due to the limited guidance provided. While the game offers depth, it does not always communicate its systems effectively, leaving players to rely on trial and error. This can be rewarding for those who enjoy discovering mechanics on their own, but it can also be frustrating, particularly in the early stages when understanding the basics is essential for survival. Visually, the game takes a functional approach. The environments and structures are serviceable, conveying the necessary information without drawing much attention to themselves. While the aesthetic fits the game’s medieval setting, it lacks detail and polish, resulting in a presentation that feels dated. Audio design follows a similar pattern, providing basic feedback without contributing significantly to atmosphere or immersion. Despite these shortcomings, there are moments where Archamon’s ambition becomes evident. Watching a small settlement grow into a more complex community, managing resources across multiple layers, and experimenting with different approaches can be satisfying. The sandbox nature of the game allows players to engage with its systems at their own pace, creating a sense of freedom that is appealing to fans of the genre. Ultimately, Archamon is a game with strong ideas that are not fully realized. It offers a unique combination of mechanics and a promising foundation for a deeper simulation experience, but it is held back by technical issues, uneven system integration, and a lack of polish. It is best suited for players who are willing to overlook its rough edges in exchange for its experimental design, but for most, it will feel like a project that falls short of its potential.
