https://youtu.be/hwCyc7_s7bg Oddly plastic character models put things in an uncannily valley while the opening stakes of causing mischief is hardly endearing to the point of view character.
Don't waste your time or money on this either less than half-hearted or merely incredibly inept and profoundly disappointing attempt at making a game which runs decently. You are supposed to be able to set the resolution before starting the game, but there is no choice. The "configurator" appears to use the desktop setting and check or uncheck the "Windowed" box it uses fullscreen. At a setting of apparently 3840x2160 resolution the actual screen image appears to be less than 1920x1080 in resolution. It looks as though the max resolution is significantly lower than my native resolution (3840x2160) and pixels are just expanded to leave everything a fuzzy and annoyingly unfocused mess. Then about 5 minutes into the performance, after leaving the professor's office without an assignment and going back downstairs the whole operation lags interminably grinding almost to a virtual halt with each progressive dialogue selection, initially lagging about 30 seconds on first location change and thereafter up to a minute or more for every subsequent action. I can't tell you any more because that was the point at which I admitted to myself that this is indeed a piece of parc and I had been duped. I am my own worst enemy, because I deferred trying this way past the two week return period, so I have no-one to blame but myself. Perhaps your experience will be different to mine, perhaps the same, but either way, should you still elect to surrender your hard-earned money, you will be doing so in the knowledge of potential disappointment. This is the best I can do to try and save you from yourself. I hope it works either way.
These games are extremely difficult - partly because the puzzles are nonsensical sometimes, but mostly because the game doesn't teach you how to play/use all options in the interface properly. The system changes from game to game too which doesn't help. I ended up playing with a guide to see how the story plays out for parts 1 and 2 and ultimately these are hard to recommend, the games are short and certainly beatable with persistence, the main character is likeable - but the overall experience wasn't very intuitive from a game play/user perspective. Half decent Point and Click Adventure games that have charm at most - 4/10.
I can't remember when or how I got this game. Might have been with a bundle. I am always eager to try out new point and click mystery games. AR-K checks that mark. I can't say that the game's anything special. But at least the voice acting is good. At times it all feels a little tedious. There's a lot of text to go through for such a short experience. Nevertheless, main character's attitude, occasional profanities and amusing cutscenes kept me hooked for the 5 hours. Chapter 2 took notes from the previous one and did better. I might get the third chapter on sales someday.
AR-K: Gone With The Sphere Un personnage principal détestable, horripilant et hypersexualisé, des énigmes tordues et insensées et une intrigue incompréhensible pour l'un des pires Point & Click auxquels j'ai pu jouer. Catastrophique. Alors, oui.
