MUTROPOLIS is a lovely sci-fi adventure set on the abandoned Planet Earth. Play as Henry Dijon (hero, nerd, detective) in search of a legendary lost city. Uncover weird ancient artifacts. And PLEASE don’t get obliterated by an ageless evil. You’ve been warned.
Irritating & Tedious !!!
The graphics are nice and the voice acting is not too bad. BUT ... The dialogue is sooooo verbose. Constant inane comments that come off as failed attempts at humour, they added nothing to the story. I got fed up with the going back and forth for petty actions, it really dragged the story out. Some of the actions just don't make sense so I had to look at a guide. I normally like these types of point & click games but this one just did not appeal.
This was pretty good through Act 2. Kind of tedious overall. Way too much slow moving dialogue that wasn't all that interesting. All the main characters are pretty boring and some of the more minor side characters are pretty annoying. But good puzzles and reasonable flow to the story. Kind of a 3 star effort through Act 2. But towards the end of Act 2 a character is introduced that is so incredibly idiotic and takes the whole, up to that point, sort of realistic sci fi world and story in a completely silly and just kind of idiotic direction. It's so dumb that at first I was convinced this new character couldn't really be who she claimed to be and was in some sort of disguise that would be soon uncovered. But no. The silliness just gets much worse in really bad Act 3. The interactions with this new main-ish character are consistently painful -- bad dialogue, too much dialogue, too much slow moving animation around the screen, bad voice acting. And the puzzles in Act 3 overall get more moon logicky and random, as the whole story just gets dumber until the ridiculous conclusion.
I wish I could give this a neutral review rather than a negative. It's not quite good enough for a positive. I like the art and the voices, but the puzzles are too convoluted and too much backtracking. Play this with a walkthrough handy.
this is a cute point and click adventure game, although it started too feel a little too repetitive / boring at some point, I just finished it to finish it. But maybe I am the problem and I got fed up with point and clicks.. I am not sure.
A lot of backtracking and no real puzzles. The story also left something to be desired.
Honestly, the puzzles seem very disjointed and even after finding hints, often leave me thinking "I never would've got that" instead of a "damn, how come I didn't think of that?!" Managed to make my way through most of the "2nd act", and wasn't feeling any enjoyment out of it
Cute game, well done, but you can't get very far without a walkthrough.
Not bad, the middle part (chapter 2) feels a bit slow and uninteresting. But it is still a good game to play. Some puzzles are teddious, use a guide.
