I'll be the first to let everyone know that this isn't a main game at all, you can get through just about everything in 4-7 hours. Despite that, it wasn't an expensive game to begin with so, you essentially get what you paid for. With that out of the way, I still recommend this game in little 20-40 minute spurts - It very much has clear charm and care that went into it with quite a few references if you read the weapon and ability names and character descriptions. I WILL SAY that the opening scene was dark as ♥♥♥♥, like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The game plays exactly as a dungeon crawler would; you start out with a specific gun or melee weapon for whatever character you chose, get dropped into a dungeon, and run around killing hordes of enemies to level up and get new abilities to play with. They didn't recreate the wheel or anything, the charm and silliness of the game is what really carries it, but I had a lot of fun playing it. It's also a multiplayer game, so you can bring your friends in on it, too. I will say this, however, when things get REALLY hectic, like there are enemies and explosions every which way in all directions, your game is going to CHUG frame rate drops. You'll be moving at 6fps until the game corrects itself to be able to make you move fluidly again. My only other real complaint is that the movement system AT TIMES can feel janky, almost... noodly? Like when you change directions to run somewhere else and your character practically slithers into it. I initially thought it was some kind of jaunt for movement speed, but it seems, at least for me, to be a mobility issue. I still recommend it, it's dumb fun. I'm sure i'll play it in spurts again.
